Last year, he caught 57 passes for 699 yards and three touchdowns.....barely had more yards than Noah Brown...
Cooks missed 4 games last season which clearly impacted his end-of-year stats totals. Based on his averages in those 13 games he would have finished with the following stats: 75 catches 914 yards

Curious as to what this means for Gallup.
And now McCarthy has stated he’d like to run a bit more, but does that mean Cooks is going to eat up a lot of Lamb’s targets? Everywhere Cooks has produced he’s been overwhelmingly the #1 receiver. I don’t think you’re gonna pay him 12m$ to get 650 receiving yards, so someone is getting the short end of the stick there.

He had 81 and 90 catches with Texans in 2000 and 2001, with one of the worst supporting casts in the league. You have no clue what you are talking about.
Correction 2020 and 2021. And even a down year last year...on the worst team in the league....and he would have been second in Dallas.

Could of kept TY Hilton and not had to use a 5th or 6th pick and his 12Mil salary
I don't think Hilton has had a fully healthy season in 6 years, is 5 years removed from having a good season and is turning 34. He also may not be interested in playing a full season and may just opt to sign later in the year like last year.

Would have welcomed him back, but I think Cooks will be much more of a a reliable option. A 5th rounder this year isn't a big deal being they had 3 of them. A 6th next year is the equivalent of a 7 next year. Overall this was a good trade.

Hilton is done bro. You didn’t notice that last season.
Looks like there were a couple of things you didn’t notice too. Hilton gets open and makes a great catch on 3rd and 30 to basically save the win against the Eagles at home. Then he gets himself open again for a sure TD in the 49ers game but Dak makes the wrong read.

Cooks has 9 more games played and the difference between the 2 WR'sin terms of receptions and yards is 35 catches and 380 yards. Also keep in mind that Cooks had the likes of Brees, Brady, and Goff throwing to him prior to going to the Texans whereas Cooper had the likes of Carr and Prescott throwing to him.
Oh that's pure crap. Prescott and Carr is a lot better than Davis Mills that's for sure. And Jared Goff. Why would you even put Jared Goff and Brady and Brees in the same damn sentence?

Expensive and a little older. People are being a little harsh about his ability though. He has spent most of his career as a top 20 receiver, despite playing on poor teams. Depending on Gallup, he is going to be the 2 or 3 guy in Dallas. The Cowboys aren't going to be asking for him to beat double coverage all game long. Does anyone have stats on his PFF and separation from the last few years?

Overall, Dallas has been checking off the boxes for massive holes on the roster. Now its down to DT and RB. Hopefully they are aggressive there in the draft.

Just in general, I think that a team's performance is just as much about the weakest link as it is the strongest. When you have to play someone who absolutely sucks, teams figure it out and make you pay. When Anthony Brown and Lewis went down last year, it had a huge impact on the defense. There is a lot to say for having quality depth even if you don't have a superstar everywhere. I still hope the team goes after WR in the draft at some point and between the 6 or so receivers they have on the roster in training camp, they find 4 that can be a quality group.

He’s not the type of WR we needed IMO. Not gonna complain too much since the Cowboys are actually making trades.

Of course, this begs the question: can Dak hit him with the long bomb? Inquiring minds want to know . . .
