You get a very good wr for 12 million and a 5th and 6th.

This is a hell of a deal, imo. As good as the Gilmore deal.
Plus.. D Hop is still an option.

Arizona has to salvage the asset

Keep in mind Cooks has a 2024 cap hit of $24.6M with no dead money for Dallas to worry about and will be 30 years old this season so this may be a one-and-done season trade opportunity for Dallas.
If traded to Dallas, the guess is that Cooks will be placed in the slot given Gallup and Lamb are on the outside.
He won’t be a $24.6 million cap hit for us. His prorated nonus money from signing bonuses stays with Houston.

Cap hit for 2023 is $12 million since the Texans are paying $6 million of his salary

Cap hit for 2024 is $16.5 million which includes his $13 million salary, $3 million roster bonus, and $500K game roster bonus.

I'll stand by on his impact. It doesn't move the needle for me because everyone seems to forget the '21 WR season of Coop, Lamb, a mostly healthy Gallup(hurt late) and Wilson at the WR corps.

That was a better group overall and it got us no where.

But, I'll stand by to share a final opinion 'til after the early playoff loss.

Cowboys!

Last year, he caught 57 passes for 699 yards and three touchdowns.....barely had more yards than Noah Brown...and traded more times than....Sam Bradford.
Again...Davis Mills. He is WAY better than those numbers indicate. With Davis the year before, he was over 1k.

He was also very pissed to play there last year...

He is as good as OBJ and younger than both OBJ and DHop.

Does this move the needle in the way we hope at the position? Eh, I'm not so sure. I do like the trade details but the wr Corps still looks weak to me *shrugs*

His bonus and restructure from that will stay with the Texans (as dead money) meaning he has a 13 million unguaranteed salary and a 3 million roster bonus in 2024. So that would make his cap hit 16 million for that season. Not saying it won't be a one and done, but it won't be a 24.6 million cap hit.

Misinformation. Y'all want us to hate this move so bad that y'all are now spewing misinformation to do it.
