TRADED Texans trade WR Brandin Cooks to Cowboys

They franchised him to work out a longer deal
I know that...but is he really worth top 3-5 money in a world where running backs are no longer considered must haves? There are a lot of good running backs making about 5-6m a year.

I hope so...but Cooks has been traded so many times...makes you wonder if he is a cancer in the locker room or a mini - TO
Just the opposite from what I've read. He shows up for work and putting forth really good effort on a bad team headed nowhere shows he's not a diva. And HOU was a dumpster fire with that ownership and GM.

The first thing I noticed about him in NO was how fluid he is running and he doesn't seem to be running that fast until you see a DB running with him.

How many of today's WR's would be silent and in the background being traded as much as he has.

I am fine with Cooks or Hopkins and the trade capital the Cowboys gave up was great. Evans or Hopkins would have been more trade capital and I think Beckham would be a mistake.

I think many look at this wrong. Don't look at him as a standalone WR, look at him with Lamb, Gallup, Pollard and the TE's in the offense. And they will add more RB's and TE's. Would not be surprised to see them use the 1st, if they stay there, on a RB or TE, depending on which players are there.

I concur....lol....fuzzy math....Cooks is still banking 18mil
But not from Jerry. 18 is way too much, but for 12, I can live with it. Seeing how that is what hey would be paying any other WR at a minimum, if traded, or if OBJ. Most Likely in the $15 mil range.
Also this saves higher draft capital, unless Smith from Ohio State falls to them at #26.

You really need to get a life. I went based on spotrac info and when updated information was provided by another member I thanked him for the info....but you keep crying in your fetal position.
You ran to spew misinformation. Is the move good or not? You don't have to worry about the cap. Cap Boy has that under control we don't need another "cap boy". Did they get a good player yes or no? Who cares how they got him they got him.

Lamb will be in the slot more. That's why they were looking for a guy who can playing inside and outside
That will be interesting given Dallas has pushed Lamb to be an outside WR the last 2 seasons and the #1 guy last season. I wonder how Lamb and his agents(s) will look at this because if he is moved into the slot for most of 2023, that may impact contract negotiations beyond his 2024 5th-year rookie option as an outside #1 would garner more money than a slot WR.

Anyone being realistic knew we had no shot that's why I never even paid any attention to those discussions. It made no sense for them to bring in D Hop's contract when they have Lamn waiting to get paid. And when it comes to Odell I'm not even sure if he wants to play. Too much of a circus around his deal.
nuks contract is not that bad at all, AND he said he’d be flexible with it. my guess is the trade compensation was the issue. (just my opinion)

Still waiting for you to say who you wanted us to pick up?
Brandon Cooks reminds me of Sam Bradford....good not great and one every team needed but no one wanted....I would rather signed a NT and drafted a WR at 26....I would take DHOP for 2nd...if the price was right,....Cooks is a 1yr deal at 12mil....Cowboys will be back in the WR market again next year....still think a NT is a bigger need than WR

Crying in your fetal position? Lol! Weak insult! You talk the talk, but don't walk the walk.
You don't like the word hater, but this is OK?:lmao::facepalm:

Definitely! We've got CB, backup QB, and WR sorted. All that's left, imo, is NT, RB, and Guard, and this team should be ready. Bobby Wagner would be the cherry on top if we can manage that too.
Considering we resigned LVE, I am guessing we won't be looking at Wagner. RB should be something in the draft. Same with Guard, and would like to see another swing T candidate. NT is the big one at this point. Run stuffer with a little bit of pass rushing juice.

Last year, he caught 57 passes for 699 yards and three touchdowns.....barely had more yards than Noah Brown...and traded more times than....Sam Bradford.
Also mention that he missed 4 games.

Huh?

Lamb is most successful playing in the slot. The vast majority of his snaps come out of the slot.

So now you are making a false claim that I purposely was trying to spew misinformation? This is why people have a difficult time with you and others with your false accusations.

Oh, and I already stated it was a good move for Dallas.

I mean more so all of the above. Cowboys value draft picks. Hopkins is not at the age where they'd traded a 1st or 2nd for. Maybe if he was 25.

While I would have rather had Dhop or Evans, Cooks just produces. He’s similar to Coop in that you look up and he has another 1,000 yard season. In 9 seasons he’s only had 3 below 1,000 yard season with one being his rookie year.
