The only thing relevant to me about this deal in no Beckham and the circus that comes with him.

There are reports he is only being offered 4M per and he won’t accept it so that tells you what the market thinks of him.

JJ sure does love trading for WR, especially older ones. Cooks has now been traded 4 times? Wow. Makes you wonder...

At least it's not OBJ! Thank goodness we dodged that one.
Yes! I give you a hundred likes as far as no obj.

at 26 is much different then 4..not far cry from 2nd round..not a big deal doubt it happens but Bijan at 26 wouldn't be upsetting.it would possible be truly BPA

Agreed. The two players I'd love for us to have at 26 are Bijan and Mazi Smith. My dream start to the draft would be Bijan and Siaki Ika. That would give us the best RB and a fantastic NT right out the gate.

Dallas Cowboys website says its a 5th Round this year and a 4th Round next year. Wonder what the truth is.
might be dependent on his play time, whether he still here next year or production. Some picks are structured like its 6th IF but 4th If type clause.

Please explain how Brandon Cooks is overrated. He has had 1,000 yards in 6 out of 9 years, and basically just sat out the Texans dumpster fire of last season.
Because we are trading for a “name” at this point. Maybe if we lived in 2018 this trade would be more exciting… but a player who has played for 4 teams in 9 years? At 18 mil a year for a 9 year vet on the downside of his career?

Nah. Doesn’t blow me away. I’m glad it’s only a 5th and a 6th— at least we didn’t get fleeced in the trade— but I am afraid this trade removes WR “off the list” and this FO will consider the WR problem “resolved”.

Obviously not the receiver I wanted but hard to criticize this…a 5th and a 6th and he only costs 12m? No brainer. For the people saying it’s a marginal move….it’s more than that, cooks is still good and he definitely makes us better. It’s just not the huge splash Hopkins is.

But I mean he’s not obj…so

I like all three of those players as well but I don’t think the draft will play out in a way that makes this possible.

1st round picks should be ear marked for OL and DL only IMO. Every NFL team has learned their lesson on RBs in the first round. Curtis Ennis, KiJana Carter, Rashan Salaam, Felix Jones + 50 more.

Everyone is so desperate for a trade just for trades sake.
Sounds like most of you want to throw a parade for Brandon Cooks.

Dallas was patient and got the deal they needed.
Cheap deal and worth the 12m cap hit.
Thats 10m less than Coop was scheduled for.
100% some common sense needs to be used instead of these emotional outburst for blown expectations. ive said all week no way we pay OBJ what hes asking no way we actually trade a 2 for a WR and pick up 18mil left on their deals when we weren't looking for #1 we are looking for a 2a type..

if fans took the time to go do a carer comp Cooper vs Cooks they find very similar career productions wise. fatc coop is on his 3rd team so hes been traded a lot as well.

I like Hopkins, but how is he a splash ? He’s been rather pedestrian that last couple years
