1st round picks should be ear marked for OL and DL only IMO. Every NFL team has learned their lesson on RBs in the first round. Curtis Ennis, KiJana Carter, Rashan Salaam, Felix Jones + 50 more.
Could see a tight end there as well. Not sure the DTs there at 26 are worth that spot but I wouldn’t be mad with a little stretch. I think there’s better value in the second round at that position.

Tight end will get addressed early.

I like Hopkins, but how is he a splash ? He’s been rather pedestrian that last couple years
He’s still really good and he’s still much better than cooks. He missed 6 games for suspension last year and still delivered

Because we are trading for a “name” at this point. Maybe if we lived in 2018 this trade would be more exciting… but a player who has played for 4 teams in 9 years? At 18 mil a year for a 9 year vet on the downside of his career?

Nah. Doesn’t blow me away. I’m glad it’s only a 5th and a 6th— at least we didn’t get fleeced in the trade— but I am afraid this trade removes WR “off the list” and this FO will consider the WR problem “resolved”.
Why can’t it be 2021 when Cooks had over 1,000 yards?
How does how many times he’s been traded affect his play?
And the Cowboys will be paying Cooks 12.35M, not 18M

Fantastic off-season so far. Gilmore and Cooks for nothing is a boon. Hopefully we can get Wagner too.

Everyone is so desperate for a trade just for trades sake.
Sounds like most of you want to throw a parade for Brandon Cooks.
I think most folks feel that the Cowboys got a good player that improves the team. Some will poo-poo this move and the Gilmore trade but these are real upgrades. Put together a nice draft and you’ve got a quality off-season.

I felt like going into the offseason playmaker was the biggest need. With this trade we now have Pollard, Lamb, and Cooks. Hopefully a healthier Gallup can rekindle some of his pre injury form.

Would love to see them draft either Robinson, or Kincaid in the first.

Excellent trade. The Texans knew Cooks wanted out so they at least got a couple picks for him. Dallas I would imagine will also try to get creative with Cooks' deal, they don't even have to pay him $12 million this year if they can get him a new contract that converts a lot of that to a signing bonus.

What the hell? He makes the team better ...... he is much better than Gallup ....... only reason to be upset about this is if you had your heart set on Hop or OBJ

And Cooks missed 4 games last year. He really hasn’t been much better than Cooks the last couple years. But I guess the stats don’t matter.
