Does Cook still have the speed....he has been a JAG for several years now....so why all the hoopla....Never been a game changer...think TY Hilton and Cooks are on PAR with each other
Jag?? - 90 catches for 1037 2 years ago with 6 tds

Can't we just be happy the Cowboys got a proven deep threat receiver at the cost of two very late round picks (one in 2024) and got his former team to pay a third of his salary in the deal?

Dallas traded two 5th round picks for starters this year and by the way, still have a pick left in the 5th round.

IM not thrilled with this deal. 5'10"? Id much have rather gotten Dhop, but it is what it is. The price was right, which was basically nothing. He will be turning 30 atthe start of this upcoming season, and we will have him the following year for only 13 million, so IF he is productive it would be worth it. Gallup is the key here. We need him to be totally healthy and productive in the red zone..... what is the avg height of our wr corps? 5'9"?

Great pick up with virtually no risk at all. Hopefully Gallup rebounds this season and we have a nice trio here again. Also look forward to Tolbert maybe providing a little something this season as well.

no, no , no we cant be happy. If we were happy that would mean giving the fo credit, and then we couldnt sit around and complain all day, and THAT is what makes us happy. So actually, most people are happy, because they still get to complain.

I agree Gallup is the key. If he is no better than last year..... ugh. Tolbert. Who is Tolbert?

Just realized Hou is paying 6 mil… that helps offset some of the risk for sure. I don’t know where that puts us next year in terms of his contract.

This isn’t a hill I will die on— and I hope you’re right. If we get 1100 yards and 7 TDs it will be worth it.

But if he gets hurt, or goes for 800 or less yards, and 4 or less TDs— all we may have accomplished is distracting ourselves from other available WR options.

Let’s talk in Dec

It's a good pickup brother. Cooks has produced no matter where he is and who throws him the ball. He's got wheels too.

Blame Mills and Jeff Driskel for a few games too, Houston's QB's were a dumpster fire last year.
I'll grant you that IS a dumpster fire.

But Lamb was 4th in WR receptions and most on here believe his QB sucks, and the league leader had "Do You Like That!" tossing him the pigskin. Many folks will sit around this offseason debating if either one of these QB's are top ten at the position.

I will be rooting for Cooks just like all Cowboys fans, but I’m leaning towards being unhappy with this trade.

PROS:

1. The Texans are part of his salary.
2. We are buying Cooks low.
3. May have some upside.
4. Conceptually, he can make the defense honor the deep ball. ( But that doesn’t matter with Dak’s lack of accuracy. )

Cons:

1. I don’t think he is the receiver most people think he is which is why teams keep trading him away.
2. I know they are just late round fliers but I wouldn’t have given up two picks for him. (You can look at it like he cost you two Blands or two Fekohos). That a high price for two Blands but not so much for two Fekohos.
3. I don’t think he is the type of receiver that is going to help Dak. Dak needs a big receiver with GO GO GADGET arms with his poor accuracy.

This is another nice get without costing much.

Look- go get the RB if you want him.

There are few teams that would have better offensive personnel in the entire NFL with a Robinson or Gibbs on this team.

Deandre Hopkins for a 2nd and we'd take on his $30,750 2023 salary and his $26,215 salary in 2024. LOL - NOPE!
