I think that’s just a jaded fan’s perspective. More likely they actually trust McCarthy and Quinn and are giving them more input so they can win.
Perhaps. Certainly the NFC seems as vulnerable as imaginable.

But if it fails again with a similar theme, its hard to imagine them not reaching some conclusions.

Look at me! Look at me! I “TOLD YOU YESTERDAY” this is who we would end up with. Folks these days need the constant affirmation.
I am only confirming how predictable this organization has become, and that I knew 100% certainty for weeks now that Cooks would end up here....this is NOT a big splash....more of a maintain the status quo move!!!

Just want to say I appreciate you. I enjoy seeing the perspective from a fan of a rival team. And I have always found your posts intelligent and subjective, so I hope some insults from other people doesn't dissuade you from being active here.
And I never implied Cooks wasn’t an improvement for Dallas. But look at 1992-1997 Minnesota: they had a perennial 1000 yard WR as their #2 in jake Reed. Draft Randy moss in 1998 and suddenly Jake Reed is catching 35 and 45 passes over the next 2 years for barely 1000 yards combined.

Dallas isn’t suddenly going to throw for 7000 yards, this will impact ball distribution

5th and a 6th plus 6 mill paid for by the Texans? Am I dreaming right now or is that an amazing deal by Jerry?!
Yep. Extremely un-Jerry like. Doubt he’s responsible for the Gilmore and Cooks deals. He certainly has to approve them, but these are more like a Jimmy Johnson trade.

Not really. Instead of throwing to Noah Brown we’ll be throwing to Cooks. CeeDee might get a little less touches but I’m sure he’ll welcome having some of the pressure taken off him.

I agree. And in my opinion Cooks was acquired because this offense needed speed. Lamb isn't slow but he's not the 4.3 guy Cooks is. Gallup is probably 4.5 on his best day and only goes deep because he knows how to high point the football.

Cooks has the kind of speed that will make corners back off and keep the safeties from cheating up close to the line.

Yeah, but what about all the touches he's gonna take from Tolbert?

Yeah but you’re not paying Cooks 12m$ to get Noah brown touches. At that price point he should see way more playing time than Noah brown as well. He’s probably going to get the Gallup stuff in the 2 WR sets, and Gallup sees the Noah Brown looks

Cooks is only 5'10 but plays outside a lot, so this leaves Lamb with plenty of chances to work out of the slot again. And the Cowboys can flip them back and forth as well to find a favorable matchup. Cowboys nation should be thrilled with this trade.

Well, you should easily find threads or posts you posted to verify you stating Cooks was going to be the guy.

Some people might ask "why does Cooks keep getting traded?"

And the answer is teams always want him and he's just been in situations where it's possible for him to be moved. With the Saints, Patriots, and Rams he was all part of contending teams. It's a shame his past two seasons were essentially wasted in Houston.

Here is the irony: they fire Kellen Moore because, as fat Mike said "Kellen wants to light the scoreboard up, but I want him to run the damn ball so I can rest my defense."

So what do they do? They go out and add a deep-threat WR to the mix and cut Zeke Elliott.

While I am not questioning the trade for Cooks was a good trade based on compensation, doesn't this go completely against what McCarthy said????
Not necessarily. They are plugging holes and I can’t believe they are actually doing some team-building. These moves give them flexibility and draft firepower to invest in the offensive and defensive lines, running back, and linebacker positions. Even TE. And cutting Zeke was absolutely the right move To do things like this.

It's like we have a new GM!
Amazing!
I think Stephen locked Jerry in a closet
And gave the keys to McClay!

Either way, but there’s not going to be a problem of too many guys to catch passes. And we’ve shown the ability to manipulate the salary cap pretty well, so that shouldn’t be a huge concern
