If LSU beats Florida they may leap frog Texas in the rankings.

But Florida would drop so nothing really changes

Yeah Texas just needs to win.

Their schedule is so soft that they can't afford to lose a game.

Hopefully they will become a better running team because you never know when bad weather will factor into a game or an injury to your QB.

He's been ok. He'll take whats there but at this point in his early career he isn't the type of playmaker that you would expect to be starting in the Longhorns backfield.

I think once Whitaker gets back into the flow of things he will be the guy at Tailback.

If I were Texas a team like Nebraska who runs it right @ you would scare me if they can find the ability to put up points.

That team is playing solid defense right now and they would be an interesting match up for Texas.

Don't get me wrong they are inferior to Texas but it is a complicated matchup imo.

UT vs OSU was shaping up to be an epic top 5 late season matchup, but h-town messed it up. but kansas suddenly has potential. and OU still looks to be strong if they can beat Miami this week. although, an undefeated OU would have been better for UT. but overall, this is correct.

but really, this is true for almost every team. nobody can afford to lose, especially late. teams that lost early like tOSU and USC are actually better off (if you're going to get in as a one loss team, that is) and could find themselves back in the hunt at the end if the right things happen along the way. which is exactly why playoffs are necessary. it shouldn't matter WHEN you lose. for instance, one could argue the voters liked OU better than Texas last year in part b/c the OU loss seemed like ancient history by the time the final polls came out.

No coach does less with more talent then Mack Brown. Say what you want about Stoops he at least gets his team TO the big game.

On second thought Wade Phillips is right up there with Mack.
