i hate the fact that espn is overdosing on hamilton coverage right now. it's as if they are trying to increase his price so only the yankees can afford him. i mean they are just going insane with discussion of his future contract. i wish they would ignore us and let us be.

ESPN is just trolling at this point.

I am at work and following the game through a box score and game cast, I missed the first inning. What is going on with Lewis? He has given up three hits and all solo home runs, what is he throwing?

I'm following through ESPN Gamecast, too. Weird game so far. Lewis gives up back-to back-to back solo HRs in the first then strikes out 5 out of the next 6. Josh had the bases loaded in the 3rd and flied out to end the inning.

Now after the trio of homeruns, he has struck out 7 of the last 9 batters

He gave up back to back to back solo home runs to start the game but now he is dealing. 7k's thru 3 innings. unfortunately, it's a typical colby outing where he never gets run support. :banghead:

I know, it's frustrating, but it's because he's our #1 pitcher usually going up against the other team's #1. I think Darvish will take over that spot pretty soon, though.

I'm pretty sure they just forgot to tell him that batting practice was over until after the first three batters. Since then, 15 up, 15 down, 10 Ks.

Maybe Colby has bad gas in the clubhouse and this is their way of saying fix it!

I wonder if a pitcher has ever struck out 15+ while also giving up 3 HRs in a game?

Lewis is THE home run king :laugh1:

Wouldn't be surprised to see the Orioles take these last 2 games. Rangers always start 4-game series off impressively in the first 2 games, scoring a bunch of runs, but then come back down to earth

The record is 14. Five different guys have done it.

This is the 94th time a pitcher has allowed 5 or more homers. The previous record for strikeouts in one of those games was 9, by Charlie Hough, pitching for the Rangers in 1989.

Colby can sometimes be like Mitch Williams was..a true managers nightmare where he walks the bases loaded then strikes out the side

Thanks for the info. What a crazy game this was.

Weird first game. Too bad we couldn't pull it out. Colby is usually good for a homer every game, I wasn't expecting five, ha. The think is he didn't even pitch bad. "That's the way baseball go".

Game two was sloppy but we pulled out the W. And Hamilton got yet another homer and naturally Elvis was on base. Elvis is getting overshadowed by Hamilton right not but he is also having a great season so far.

Looking forward to watching CJ vs. Yu tomorrow.

Me too. Mainly cause I'm going to be there at the park to see it. :)

I'm so excited for the game. I really hope to see Hamilton crush another HR on CJ.
