Don't fear. Joe Nathan is coming up! Hahahahaha. Hopefully this three run lead sticks. I am nervous though.

I read that Nathan had to take cortisone shots before the ballgame. Wonder if he's completely healthy, and maybe he'll see reduced innings for the rest of the way with Ogando and Adams maybe getting some save opportunities to keep him fresh down the stretch.

I read that also. But call me crazy, even when he was healthy I didn't have a lot of confidence in him. Early last season when Feliz came in I had confidence, when John Wetteland came in I always had confidence.

Wish I could get my flux capacitor working, could go back in time and get Wetteland.

Si is Oswalt going to be a lockeroom cancer now?

The club house is too strong for that to happen. And they have worked it out. He said he didn't want to go another inning because he wasn't used to all of the innings. No starter is ever happy to be a reliever. He just has to adjust.

I have the upmost confidence in him. His first two outting ever with the Rangers tainted a lot of people. I will say I do not like him in a non-closing situation though. Great closer, not so great reliever. I guess he just has a different mind set when closing.

I read also that he had thrown something like 250 pitches in the week prior leading up to that day.

I think the media made a mountain of a mole hill here.

But if he had thrown that much, he had a bullpen session where he threw a lot, Wash and Maddux should have known that.

Wash has always seemed to be a little odd with his pitchers though, leaving them in too long or pulling them to quick.

So he wants to be starter again but can't go 3 innings?

No. I got this from the Rangers team report on Yahoo.

The Rangers and Roy Oswalt took more steps Tuesday to end any confusion over what happened when the right-hander declined to take the ball for a third inning of relief Sunday.

Oswalt met with manager Ron Washington on Tuesday to clear up any lingering questions.

It didn't appear, however, that Washington had any.

"I didn't know anything wasn't fine before," Washington said when asked if everything was OK between the pitcher and manager. "We met and cleared the air about what was said and moved on."

Washington on Sunday said Oswalt said "he couldn't go any longer" after two perfect innings in which he threw a total of 30 pitches. Asked why, Washington referred reporters to Oswalt, who was not available at the time and who declined comment Monday.

Oswalt had thrown 150 pitches over the course of three outings by the time his Sunday appearance was done. Both he and Washington, however, said he threw a 40- to 50-pitch bullpen session during the week as well in case the Rangers wanted to make one turn through the rotation with six pitchers to give everybody extra rest. When he decided he couldn't go back out, Oswalt had more than 200 pitches on his arm for the week and had thrown off a mound in some fashion four times in seven days.

Yeah I agree. I've never liked how Wash manages his pitchers. But I'm no manager. Ha

I guess we shall see if Oswalt is good to go or not. He is in with a two run lead, two outs and the bases loaded.

Matt Harrison didnt have a great day today.

Joe Nathan got the save today. Allowed one hit, but didnt chunder away the game.

Two series wins in a row. Headed home for an off day and then to face the Tigers.

This has been a great day for democracy.

Think Ogando looks like our closer of the future over say Scheppers. He's pitching great. It's also neat to have both those guys in the ML top-10 in average fastball velocity by relievers. Throw in Nathan, Lowe, and Kirkman and we have a bunch of guys who bring it at 94+ mph.

The future is very bright indeed. The only one besides Nathan (as he is a little older and is not the long term solution) that really doesn't blow my skirt up is Mark Lowe.

What are your thoughts on him?

Well, he has some closing experience with SEA a few years back, and he can bring it at 96-98mph. Think he along with Ross make decent veteran R-L 6th-inning tandem behind the big 3 of Adams, Ogando, and Nathan, and he's a FA after the season so he'll probably be motivated to be on his A-game down the stretch auditioning for his next contract.

Olt is a beast. I've been impressed with nearly every one of his at-bats. He's PATIENT
