Remember, Norvell was fired as OC at OU last year, due to offensive shortcomings that may have been more attributable to his co-coordinator, Josh Heupel.
He was brought on board at UT earlier this year for his knowledge of Spread offense dynamics.
He had been at OU since 2008, Was OC at UCLA in '07, and OC at Nebraska in 2004-06.
Interesting that he played DB and LB at Iowa, was a LB for Chicago in '87, but he has coached on the offensive side for his entire career.
Another interesting twist -
Norvell was the OC at Nebraska, was fired, and replaced by Watson (who later was fired there too). Now Watson's being replaced by Norvell.
...and Oklahoma State probably has even further justification in their lawsuit against Wickline now, since he's no longer a playcaller at Texas, and simply back in the same position that he left at OSU. I doubt he ever was the playcaller at Texas, despite their claims to the contrary - Strong even said in his deposition about it that he never knew who was calling plays in the Texas games last season, despite him being in charge of both of them and listening in on the headset for all of the calls.
