Thank god Troy isn't commentating on Sunday.

Sometimes, the truth hurts. The vast majority of Aikman's past commentary about the Cowboys has been 100% on target. Some of that commentary has been positive. Some of it has been negative. He is one of the best analysts in the business because of that very fact.

I, for one, would love for him to call all of our games. Fans would hear studied insight about the performance of the teams involved. Viewers used to get that more often in the past, but it's rarely given in this era. Nowadays, there are too many Theismanns giving their sorry input while you're trying to enjoy the game.

On the money DE.

Seems the 'it's not my fault' 'i am the best and you better say so' ' I know Madden therefore I know football' generation wouldn't know a good commentator when they hear them.

I don't care that a lot feel that way and I don't care if my saying they are soft offends them. I really don't.

I don't think there are valid points on both sides. I think some people need to toughen up. Guess what? There will be times that our Cowboys aren't being gushed about.

Dear Lord in heaven we can't have that!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah right.

Soft. Right between the ears soft for some.

If you don't care then why do you call people soft only to validate your comment? Make your point and let it rise or fall without name calling.

Troy is not anti Cowboy. I can not believe people think this. I guess since he does not wear Cowboy pom-poms in the booth he must hate the Cowboys.

I have never heard him say a hateful thing towards the Cowboys. I have heard him make honest statements such as "Dallas has not demonstrated a pass rush", or "the running game is non existent" for example, but it was entirely accurate.

To focus only on the honest negative statements is really child like because when the Boys are doing things right he states the obvious as well.

but darren woodsen, moose, and irvin show more respect for there old team
Who the hell cares? I'm not looking for the Cowboys to have a Theisman in the booth. I want honest football commentary. Even if that means he points out our stupidity.

That's what kills me. Go to any fan in this forum's house and watch a game. When the Cowboys do something stupid I bet you $1000 to your $1 that every last one of you says somethign about how stupid that was. Yet you can't stand it when someone else says it?

Please. That's the essence of soft.

Irvin can go away as far as I'm concerned. And take his fashion commentary with him. Him and his baseball sized knot in his tie. Loud doesn't equal good.

Aikman is the best analyst in the game. Period.

Soft isn't name calling. It's an observation. If I wanted to call people names it wouldn't be a soft name like "soft."

I'd throw some anger into it.

^^^ Whatever. You can ride Aikmans jock without throwing Mike under the bus. Irvin is a very entertaining analyst. If you like strictly by the book boring analyst then by all means keep riding Aikman.

atleast theisman isn't an *** towards his old team
IMO, Aikman has not commented about his old franchise as much as he could have. During the Campo years, he could have ridiculed us without restriction 24/7, but he didn't--even though he would've been right. That is an example of Aikman's character. I'm not sure why he's receiving this kind of backhanded treatment. What's wrong? Did he say something unkind about Owens or something..?

If Aikman is not biased then how come so many people feel he is???

Do you hear anyone saying this about Moose? Why? Because he is a better commentator. Why is Aikman so popular? Because he bags on the Cowboys and fans fom other teams do not like us.

I like Madden. I'm not so soft that his love of Brett Favre offends me.

I say we start a Poll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hos can you hook one up :)

I disagree and I will give an example.

Dal @ Jax

Reggie Williams touchdown on A Henry.

Troy says there was a lot of contact but Reggie kept playing? Huh? How was Henry supposed to keep playing getting pushed to the ground?

That was so insighful.
I never said Aikman was perfect. ;) No one is. Still, I believe that if many examples of his comments were listed and placed side-by-side, his spot on thoughts would far outweigh his miscues.

What is funny is Troy Aikman is pretty much considered one of the best in the biz if not the best, yet some Cowboys fans want to moan about him.

I have used this analogy before, but one of my favorite commericals of all time was a radio commercial. It went something like this:

Wife calls husband on cell phone: "Honey, be careful. The news is reporting there is an idiot going the wrong way on the freeway."

Husband: "There is not one guy going the wrong way...there are thousands going the wrong way"

Reminds me of the Aikman haters. If you are getting rubbed the wrong way, maybe you should turn around.

I didn't bring up Irvin, someone else did in comparison. Is he entertaining? At times. I still wouldn't miss him if he went away. It's the fashion commentary that loses me. Shut up and talk football.

I agree with that he is far better than most of them.

Keep it coming.

What happened to creating polls on the board?

I would like two polls...

Is Aikman biased against the Cowboys?

Who is better Moose or Aikman?
