That 30 year championship drought people are talking about? Dallas is 251-217 (.536) since 1995

What would you call it when you've had two #1 seeds and (I think) a couple #2 seeds as well and couldn't win 1 of those divisional games?

Did Dallas feast on a weak NFCE, thus the #1 and #2 seeds were really fools gold? Maybe. BP built a pretty good squad for '06-'07, even though he wasn't here in '07 (didn't really want TO, but let's face it, TO put the Cowboys in position in 2007).

No, absolutely not like the '70s or '90s. Not by a long shot. Look at NE and KC. A great coach with a HOF QB. We haven't had that since Aikman and after Jerrah booted Jimmy. If that's your metric -- and it's a good one -- then Jerry really is fools gold.

But otherwise, we haven't been *that* bad, right??
A 30 year bad streak has nothing to do with luck at all. The Cowboys have been middling in the regular season, and flat out horrible in the post season. By far the worst playoff team of the NFC for the last 30 years.

Tell me when they hang the banner for being barely above .500 in the regular season for all that time.

Oh I'm sure this will tick some people off.

NFL Cumulative Seasonal Rankings since 1995

#11 overall. Look, I get it, Jerry makes himself an easy target. Dude wants to win and (obviously) wants the credit in doing so. Look at the Netflix special. He obviously made the mistake letting Jimmy go, but Jimmy wasn't going to say around much longer anyway. And who knows, now that I've seen the Netflix special, just maybe Barry and his "hands off but love the player" approach was best for that 1995 veteran squad that ended up winning it all. Along with the signing of Deon, which was all Jerry no doubt. Dallas NEEDED Deon to get the ring in '95 -- wonder if Jimmy would have been on board with the signing?

Anyway, back to the topic -- Dallas is ranked just outside of the top 10 in terms of winning percentage (.536) during the regular season since 1995. I know, I know, what have you done for me during the post season? I get that. But as I've said many times, they were in GREAT position in 2007 and 2016 -- both #1 seeds in the NFC.

Bashing Jerrah is as American as apple pie and fireworks on the 4th of July. It's EASY to do. But unless you've got some context, it doesn't tell the whole story. Yes, I've been frustrated with Jerry. But it's not like this 30 year drought has come with season after season of just 4-8 wins as with many franchises (including Washington until recently). The bottom line is Jerry and those with a hand in the personnel put this club in position for a championship run more than once. Should Jerry get the blame for the 2007 playoff loss to the NYG, or does that fall on the defense? Does that fall on Patrick Crayton not running at full stride when Romo laid the ball out to him in the EZ late in that 4th quarter? Is it Jerry's fault that Romo couldn't hold the ball on a FG attempt in Seattle in '06, or Dez's "catch" was ruled not a catch? Is it Jerry's fault that the defense couldn't make a stop on Aaron Rodgers during the home divisional playoff game in 2016 (Jan 2017)?

You see where I'm getting at. No championship game since 1995 has just as much to do with "bad luck" or players not making plays than Jerry's so-called incompetence as an owner and GM.

Like I said, this will probably piss some of you off, but again it's not just black and white like everyone wants to make it out.

And yes, I think the Parsons trade ultimately will be a good one for the Cowboys. They got good return when you consider not many teams could be or would be willing to take on that contract.
30 years different players coaches same bad results, not bad luck bad front office. Jerry’s team philosophy win against the mediocre teams and keep the fans hopeful. Jerry totally sucks as a GM and he’s in full Al Davis mode now

Bad luck?

Really?
What he said makes sense. There was a lot of games in that run that turned on one play through no fault of Jerrys. He may not be perfect but acting as though he's turned this into the worst team in the league is hyperbole at it's finest.

just another post about being happy with what we have and quit whining for more

the people that get pissed off do not know football, they are just plain fans. It all falls on the players, they are the ones on the field. all people have to do is pay attention. it's like a fashion show now days when professional athletes show up to games now, which carries on to the field of play. they go out there with big ear rings, gold chains on, spend a lot of time looking into the crowd talking to fans, those jokers are not about being great as a team, hell not even as individuals, they want to break the bank and flash their money and jewelry. they are little punks

Yep. And an excellent HC that can have more of a say in personnel.

But BP did have that in 2003-2006. Which is weird. Jerry did seem to evolve a little with BP, but then was like "nope, I'm taking the reigns again" with the signing of TO.

Jerry's 83. He ain't gonna be around much longer. BIGGER question is Stephen. Will he keep the 'Boys or sell? Will he hire a GM that his daddy wouldn't do??
i cant say for sure, but i would guess its a family thing and not soley in Stephens hands but i would bet he wont hire a GM, he wants Daddys spot as is

So where is the regular season.champuinship trophy? Can you post a picture?

Regular season.wins and claims of success are for losers. Who won the NFC northern 2007? How about AFC south in 2011?

No one remember and nobody cares now people will remember superbowl wins. Celebrate it. Measure your success by it.

These regular season wins get Jerry exactly what he wants. Seats filled. Jerseys sold. Topic of conversation in the media. Cha ching.

I could give a damn about being 11th in the league in regular season wins. Show me the ring....

Like I said this talk for losers.

What?
You sound like you just want to complain about their attire. Attires change over time. People complained about the 60s and 70s and 80s and so on.

Other teams Ayers dress the same and some how they manage to play well and win championships.

Geez dude. How old are you?

Disagree. We should have and could have made plays to make that one play irrelevant. We didnt and can't. What you say is a losers mentality. If you are good, truly good you dont need luck

regular season has never been the problem.
this team is good in the regular season.
its in the playoffs that everything falls apart.
our stars disappear.
we dont even look like the same team.
until that changes....the east is all we'll win from time to time.

Why two QBs?
If they draft a QB in the 1st RD and it’s a bust they will not draft another QB in the 1st RD for a very long time.

I don’t think the Cowboys have drafted a QB in the 1st RD since Aikman, that’s insane.

The desire from Cowboys fans to get a top college QB is at its highest point in a very long time.

If Jerry decides to finally get a QB in the 1st RD there’s a chance he’s going to get the wrong guy, get two QBs and let’s see which one really is better.

so hedging your bets, ala Washington when they drafted two QBs, one of which was Kirck Cousin
