Its one thing to throw the ball deep downfield its a whole different story to place it in the right spot. Thats where he is not good at.

For example the backshoulder fade. Romo threw it well. Dak isnt able to do it right now. He looks better then last year but he has still ways to go. And this has nothing to do with being out of sync with WRs. He just isnt able to throw the ball precisley where it has to be.

Wrong and wrong. If 67.8% competion last year wasn't very good accuracy, explain what is?

My eyes certainly would not agree with the stats. Do we know what kind of receiver works best with Dak other than a open one?

It's not Dez. He no longer separates and runs lazy routes. He appears to be content with being a 1a.

Its not Brice. He disappears for weeks at a time and can be very inconsistent. Very....

It's not Twill. He's a great body catcher and can contribute a little yac across the middle but you're not going to see him catching anything over his shoulder downfield.

So who is it?

Only 43 passes went farther than 20 yards in 2016. Your stats here are wrong.

And I said 30 yards. We run outs at 20 yards as it is. That is not exactly a deep throw.

Fuzzy, you are correct. That percentage was wrong (probably from some point mid-season), but deep passes are generally considered 20 yard or more in the air.

If their point was that Prescott wasn’t asked to throw deep very often, they’re mostly right. His 43 deep passes (balls traveling 20 or more yards through the air) ranked only 27th-most last season. His average depth of target (8.6) ranked 20th-highest of 36 qualifying passers. If their argument was that Prescott can’t or wasn’t very good at throwing deep, they are wrong.

Counting the playoffs, Prescott got to 50 deep pass attempts. Among all 206 instances this past decade of a quarterback throwing at least 50 deep pass attempts in a single season (playoffs included), Prescott’s passer rating on deep balls ranked 14th-best, and best by a rookie quarterback. Generally? According to who? Most of the splits I see break it down in 10 yard increments up to 30 yards.

And as I pointed out we adjust the ins and outs that are a staple of the offense to 20 yards regularly. 20 yard particularly to the middle of the field is not deep. NFL quarterbacks throw those and routes further on ropes regularly. Those are not executed like deep passes.
 
Dez is an awesome WR who has his own skills and weaknesses like any athlete. Now because of Dak's weakness (he has pros to his game as well) we blame everything on Dez.

Dez doesn't get open or create separation they say; meanwhile Dak misses Dez who is WIDE OPEN on a 5 yard slant for a TD. I dunno that appears to me like Dez created perfect separation there.

Remember last year when Dez executed a perfect double move on Josh Norman and was WIDE OPEN for a 60 yard TD and Dak never saw him? Remember last year when we had multiple gifs posted of Dez creating separation and being open and Dak never seeing him?

Look i'm not saying Dak is trash. I'm saying he's a young QB and we need him to mature and grow more than we need to worry about Dez or other WR shortcomings on this team. It was shown with the All 22 after week 1 that Dez drew extra attention on virtually every snap? Dez's mere presence despite his flaws is the biggest thing helping Dak.

Now Dez who has great hands needs to not drop balls. That drop into an INT was bad.

Bill and Brady as a combination have overcome the shortcoming of Bill as the GM. Not won because of it.

I really used to respect your football takes. But you've thrown away your credibility over Dez. Who exactly is going to draw double coverage that Dez does when you sub in Switzer for him?

Dak keeps waiting for the receivers to get opened and not anticipating them getting opened, that's a no-no for any QB at the NFL level.
