The 1 reason why I want Tony Romo to play in a game before the end of the season

I don't understand the we owe Romo something argument. He was and is paid handsomely for his services. Fortunately for the team we found someone younger, cheaper and built for today's game . It's the Naure of the game. He's got about 100million reasons not worry about Dak.

Is so that the Cowboys fans can give him a proper thank you/send off.

This guy has been our best player for over a decade, taken unfair criticism, and has done it all with complete class and high character.

I'd love for him to get into a home game, whether it be in the regular season or the playoffs, so that the fans can give him a big, long standing ovation. The man deserves it.

I understand where you are coming from and I wouldn't mind seeing Romo go out on a high note but there is nothing unfair about the criticism of Romo. He has done some incredible things but he has also failed miserably at many key times. His meager 2 playoff wins in 10 years has rightfully earned him the criticism anyone wants to throw his way. I personally hope they find a way for him to stay. I know it's unlikely but I'd love for him to be the backup for a few years and maybe get a stretch of 3-4 games where he is needed and goes in and lights it up. I'd much prefer that to seeing him play for another team. He couldn't even make it through 3 preseason plays so I can't imagine he can take the hits a starter takes for very long without getting seriously hurt. I'd rather see him come to his senses and go out as a player/coach and lifelong Cowboy than to see him in another uniform being left broken on the turf and retired by some 300 lb DL. We all know that is what awaits him if he leaves for a starting gig on another team.

If he comes in and he's lights out I think your making a short hook if Dak struggles in a playoff game. I could envision a scenario where we see Tony getting meaningful snaps

If Dak struggles. Define struggle. 2-3 ints?

I appreciate the sentiment but honestly Romo's the last thing on my mind right now with the division available this weekend. We have a young team that will be tested. Closing out the season will present many challenges and coaching decisions. We have the division, HOA and preparing for the postseason to deal with. Romo's sign off moment should be waaaayyy in the rearview imo.

When the offense looks as horrible as it did against the Vikings because of his either inability or unwillingness to do anything but throw to wide open receivers.

lol, like Romo is gonna do any better under a constant pass rush from a d like Minny.
Keep on clinging to that fantasy, Dak fanboy. Just remember to tell your kid to turn off Madden this time, because you're clearly getting confused on what you're watching at gametime.

This is bigger then Romo. He had a decade to get it done. The time has passed him by. This team is trying to get to a place they havent been in 21 yrs. A championship. If they get it he will be apart of it just not the way he wanted. Its a shame its under different circumstances but it is what it is. But this team is bigger then him or any other one player. He can mentor Dak and get this team a ring. ut sadly thats the extent of the impact he will have unless a injury knocks Dak out.

You can say that he had 10 years to get it done, but this goes more to what was built around him the past 10 years. I think you can agree that the decisions that have been made with personnel over the past 3 years has vastly improved. It is more unfortunate that the GM has not only failed Romo and the Dallas Cowboys. We still don't know how this season would have turned out if Romo never got hurt. One can argue it would have been similar to 2014. The biggest difference is Zeke and the defense, which are both better than what we had in 2014.

I would like to see him play if Dallas wraps up HFA, just to see this offense with him behind the wheel. I think that it could be very interesting with him as the starting QB.

Tony Romo has never been the best player on our team. If it seems that way it's only because his position has the most influence in the outcome of a game.

The best players since 2006 for the Cowboys have been Jason Witten and Demarcus Ware. During several seasons they have been considered the best at their position.

Which of these 3 mentioned have ever garnered at least 1 MVP vote...dont worry, I'll wait.

If Tony Romo plays then it will be because Dak is injured I'm not willing to sacrifice the health of the team's future for an emotional send off.

Tony Romo will enter the Cowboy Ring of Honor quickly. I look forward to the presentation. Let me also say that if it becomes necessary to call upon Tony this season then I have no doubt he will perform spectacularly, and it would be a great end to hia career, I'm just not willing to wish it at the expense of Dak Prescott.

Tony has been the best player on a bad team for years and it's not even close.

He lights it up throughout the playoffs and brings home a SB title and rides off into the Dallas sunset. No better way for it to end...

Stinks the last game is on the road in Philly. Would be great if that Philly game was at home and was meaningless and we could give Romo a great send off.

Hopefully that Lions game also is meaningless.

He may have thrown for 300 yards vs the Vikes, but unfortunately, he may have thrown some interceptions as well. Dak plays it safe when he has to, Tony forces the issue. Sometimes it was great and sometimes it was "what the f*** was that"

This. Even as a huge Romo fan, I'll never understand some of this sappy jargon that he is owed a "thank you" game or a specific type of sendoff. The guy has been paid enough money that probably the next 10 generations of Romo will never need to work a day in their lives, and he's been allowed to be the face of the franchise for over a decade.

This should be no different than anyone would be treated in any other job. It's so long and good luck.

I dont want Tony to ever play again ....... he is gonna get hurt bad and I do not want to see it.

That was one of the points I made. I fear that Romo will keep pushing until a 300 lb DL leaves him broken on the turf. I don't want to see him go out that way. I'd much rather see him go out a lifelong Cowboy with a few years as the backup QB/assistant coach. Maybe he will get a few games where he is needed and can go out on a high note.

Absolutely dumb luck achieving the best record in football to this point. Avoiding mind numbing turnovers has nothing to do with our success... :banghead:

Some fans: Romo needs to go, he's too expensive to keep as a back up. He hasn't done anything for us in the past 10 years. He's done. He sucks, always has.

Same fans: I hope Romo doesn't go to an NFC team. I hope he goes to a team that stinks. I hope he doesn't go to a team with a great support cast. I hope we don't have to play him in the Super Bowl cause he'll light us up.

The amount of disrespect and selfishness our fan base has is unfathomable. In MY opinion, this man carried the franchise for the past 10 years, owns most of the passing records for the Cowboys, but somehow, all the losses are his fault and his alone. A lot of people like to throw out the argument that Romo shouldn't feel bad because he has $100 million reasons not to but I wish I could find the interview when they asked him how it would feel if he won another SuperBowl for another team or when he broke down after the refs screwed us over at Lambeau Field.

He has a life 99.9% of the world can only dream about:
-Undrafted, underdog fighting to become the franchise QB for the biggest sports team in the world
-Hot wife, beautiful kids, millions of dollars
But yet, all he wanted was to bring the trophy home for his team.

A proper sendoff is the least we can do.

There is a part of me that would love things to be settled before that detroit game so that all of us in the stadium and his teammates can give him a final sendoff.

If he plays a quarter or two at Philly its going to suck.

Would love to be a part of it vs detroit on monday night football.
