How about this A Team of draft picks. Are they any good? Contribute much? I would hope so because the Steelers are a horrible team.

Who Did the Steelers Draft in 2023?

  • Round 1, Pick 14 (From NE)
    Broderick Jones, OT | Georgia
  • Round 2, Pick 32 (From CHI)
Joey Porter Jr., CB | Penn State
  • Round 2, Pick 49
    Keeanu Benton, DT| Wisconsin
  • Round 3, Pick 93 (From CAR via SF)
    Darnell Washington, TE | Georgia
  • Round 4, Pick 132 (From CAR via SF)
    Nick Herbig, EDGE | Wisconsin
  • Round 7, Pick 241 (From MIN via DEN)
    Cory Trice, CB | Purdue
  • Round 7, Pick 251

You could literally do this for every team and you'll get the same results most likely. Maybe 1 key contributor per team and lucky if you get more than that. All the know it alls in here scattered like roaches when you turn the light on when they see posts like this. The only response is going to be something like this.
So now we’re going to the ‘look at other teams‘ card to justify our bad draft? LOL

Top 3 round picks are supposed to contribute in Year 1. Overshown definitely would have contributed had he not torn his ACL during preseason. Mazi and Schoonmaker were disappointing.
You can get those posts deleted all you want until you produce a list of all the 'Top 3 round picks' for every NFL team and tell me which team had success for those Top 3 you don't know what you are talking about.

Not necessarily, depends upon the position. I didn't expect Mazi to, Schoon is our typical reach and failure in Rd 2 and Overshown hopefully next year we see the merits of it. Next year we will have a better idea, and it is hard hitting on any draft pick

So you believe in drafting busts in the first 3 rounds? Damn, go take your team destroying suckiness somewhere else dude. I hate wasting my time with clowns who clearly never played the sport or failed to understand it.

True, but they really need to reinvest in some O-linemen since certain ones are aging and never stay healthy.
Yeah they for sure could've addressed that this draft. They wouldn't have started now but they would've been at least waiting in the wings.

I think most would agree that the 2023 draft class was very average at best. Just wasn't a good draft class based on returns so far. Some good players but overall, a huge dud.

I'm eager to see what Overshown can do next year. A terribly unfortunate break to have him go down in camp. No doubt he was being counted-on to be an impact player this season. There are only two LBs listed on the current roster, and one of them is not playing LB.

No reason to give up on Mazi just yet. His job isn't the sexy one on the DL. I'll reserve judgment for another year.

Never did understand the Schoonmaker pick in Rd. 2. Our cellar was already pretty-well stocked with TEs, and there were more pressing needs at that stage of the draft...both at the time, and in hindsight. The emergence of Ferguson as an important playmaker has made that pick look even worse.

Huh? Cowboys definitely needed a young 1 tech DT. Long overdue. Hankins is old, gets injured and misses time......which is exactly what has happened. Cowboys needed a young but talented 1 tech. It's very disappointing to see Mazi with so much strength and quickness during college and training camp get absolutely stonewalled during the regular season game in and game out.
I'm saying on the depth chart Hankins was the starter. They need a lot of young players lol. They need a young guy to replace Lawrence, Martin, Tyron.....my point was It wasn't dire need right now. I guess in a perfect world we could've found a 1 tech that could come right in and start right now.

No one is talking about "starting". We're talking about "contributing". Mazi and Schoonmaker have played some, but they really have not contributed. That's an F grade on them their rookie year for being top 2 round draft picks.
What do you mean they haven't contributed? Mazi is currently starting and Schoon is getting reps in the running game. As far as them being F's? I mean I guess? Not really sure what you guys expected....well I guess you expected "contributors".....
