I hate the term "buying a championship." There is a certain amount of money to be spent and it's ridiculous to eliminate one source of talent as the FO seems to have done.
It is kind of the whole point in professional sports

For decades fans thought the Red Sox and Cubs were cursed when they were really just cheap...they finally spent big and won WS, just like the 2 the Marlins "bought" in a decade

Whatever DAL is doing it isn't working........the results just aren't there and rebuilds don't take this long or require hitting the QB in the comp 4th round

Work ethic, leadership, attitude, humility.....I agree.

Accuracy isn't his strength, however. Linehan called a perfect game for him to limit what he needed to do. We'll see how long it takes him to really understand the game from the pocket, where he struggled mightily at times. There's no short cut to this.
He was fourth in the league in completion percentage. When his mechanics are right he's very accurate.

You can't compare baseball with football. Very different businesses.

are you kidding?...... it is pro sports......MLB, NFL, NBA, NCAA FB and BB

you pay for talent....... you improve your chances at winning

ask SEA and DEN
You do realize the NFL cap is different from the NBA cap and the MLB has no cap but it's all the same.

Thanks to Linehan. From the pocket, he had some very shaky throws. New York and Minnesota owned him.

He's got to learn like everybody else.

So what happened to the 7 year plan?

Oh, that's right, that was Garrett's training phase................now we start the real plan, just another 4 years added to the 7.

The 11 year plan, I like it:thumbup:
lol the process just got a restart !
The previous years dont count now lol
most coaches get 5 years, but ol JG is on unlimited years plan.
15 years, 20 years, whatever it takes. It is a process, it is football, move forward, Stack things, clap a lot, blame players,
the process just goes on and on there is no stopping it.
And he is cheap, only 6 mil a year for his wonderful skills.

I make fun of him but he isnt the worst coach, there are quite a few who are worse than JG.
The truth is there are not many HC that are actually good to very good.

After years of jerry, now stephen is going to show us how it is done, so far it is better , but not good enough.
Next 3 years will tell us if he can do better than his dad.
So far neither one can get past the div round in this century.

Bad thing is if SJ does do that and get to nfcc game, but not past it, he will be incorrigible and full of himself
for just doing that.

My thought is the seasons will be interesting and probably good, but it is the post season to look at and evaluate
for if this team is gonna do something like get to and win a SB.
They could be like GB, get to the playoffs year after year, but always get beat, GB has never made it back the the big one
with rodgers.
Fans get tired of that, but it is better than not making playoffs year after year.

So Linehan made the throws for him? That's freaking amazing.

Linehan didn't limit the playbook for Dak.

it is a process, not a plan, and there are no deadlines.

H-m-m, sounds like Garrett might have you brainwashed. If there's such a thing as a four year plan, why not a 3-year plan instead? Works for me.

Well i think erod came up with the 4 year plan, JG has said nothing about any plan.
For the jones boys every year is a potential SB year, they do their fixing, and then expect wonders.
With Jason it is just do the best you can and see where you wind up.
Also Jason has input, but little control, so he just has to roll with whatever the jones boys give him.
He wanted to keep murray, but they didnt so he had to roll with randle and mcf.

Oh my God. Lol, he certainly did.
He may have played to his strengths, as any good coach would with any player, but by the mid point of the season there were no training wheels.

And again, Linehan couldn't make the throws for him.

Dak did a great job.

But he had the best offensive line, best running back, Hall of Game tight end, Dez, Beasley....best personnel in football.
