I dont like JG as a head coach but he would make a good GM, been saying that for awhile. If injuries are limited this season with Romo playing all 16 and we still don't make the playoffs...........I think there is a good chance that he is gone. Maybe he stays with the organization in some capacity though.

I don't see why he should. He's effectively been handed every position he's had, and then had those powers stripped from him over time after showing he couldn't handle it.

I only say that he stays in another position because Jerry loves him and considers him family. Not to mention losing that 18 million left, he can earn it in scouting or something

I'm not sure it could work that way. I think that once he's fired (if that happens), he gets his money. And I think it's unlikely his pride or ego would allow him to simply move to a smaller office in the building.

Show me where I made excuses.

I'll wait.

You have fully assimilated into the Zone culture. Congratulations.

Your entire post was nothing but revisionist nonsense from a pro-Garrett excuse-maker. With the nerve to "roll their eyes" at anyone else.

"Becomes head coach". A position he was given, never earned.

"Cuts all old pricey veterans". You mean his offensive linemen? The guys he had no problem having here when he was the offensive coordinator?

"Rebuilds offensive line". Yeah, the "Garrett Master Plan". The ultimate in revisionist history. As if the plan was to use multiple first round picks to repair the line. As if the great Garrett forced the rest of the organization to go this route. As if the plan all along was to draft Smith, Frederick, and Martin, despite the fact that they traded down before they drafted Frederick, and wanted three players before they settled for Zack Martin. But yeah, 'Garrett Master Plan'! :lmao:

"Starts to rebuild defense". Great job of that. 5-plus years into 'the process', and this part is 'started'? The Romans took less time to build the Colosseum. But I'm sure the blame for that will shift elsewhere. Garrett only gets credit.

"One year removed from 12-4 season". Actually, he's two years removed. His most recent report card shows a 4-12 record and a grade of "F".

I find it hilarious that someone attempting to defend a .500 coach has the complete lack of self-awareness and ignorance to "roll their eyes" at anyone.

Maybe we can get a fellow Zoner to work on that? Where's @TheCount when we need him? I think I remember him hooking me up with a sweet Wade Phillips Stay Puft Marshmallow Man photoshop back in the day, for which I will always be grateful.

Why be like this? It's got to be so exhausting. We all overlook things sometimes.

Having some problem standing on the sensibility of another? And then winning your own inquiries...

He's sold his soul to the burn barrel group, and only shows up to demean who he thinks the board will allow him to get away with insult upon.

I won't buy as well...Good Evening, Sir.:)

I'm curious on the next hire. Does Jerry kind of sort of but not really get humble, take a step back and pull a Parcells or does he bring in another puppet?
Honestly, I'd rather have Charlotte making that decision rather than Jerry or his son.

Rebuilding from the ground up through the draft takes time. 2015 was the fluke, not 2014.
Seriously? What about the previous three seasons where we sat home and watched the playoffs? Was that all just imagined? Let me help you here with a simple example.

4 non playoff seasons
1 playoff season

Which of these is not like the other?

JG is the safest coach in football.

He'll never get fired in the Romo era. No chance.

I don't think he will ever get fired either....We probably fire coordinators first. If anyone is on the hot seat...It's Marinelli:rolleyes:

This is my hunch too. They would move him to some kind of sinecurism like assistant general manager in charge of process and right kind of guying. It's like Matt Johnson, just somehow he will have a paycheck although he might not be showing any sort of function to the team.

It should of happened a long time ago. I doubt it happens as long as Romo is here. It will definitely happen once Romo is gone.

Mike McCarthy? Really?

I'd say that's a fairly bad list, overall. Though JG might be on my own list, too, to be honest. His team needs to return to 2014 form to keep this show on the road.
Top four are pretty solid.

I challenge any Jason supporter to put together a curriculum vitae where he justifies being anything other than a coach talk pablum spewer with an associate's degree in team apparel. Guy is a brilliant suckupubus. No team beyond the Skins would hire him for anything other spite at this point.

With an inherited HOF QB...he has to be close to having been paid the most money per win in the history of the NFL at this point.
