The problem with Roy Williams is that with his slowness and his horrible route running ability, he's going to get "old" and age in this league very quickly. We aren't looking at a player about ready to defy the odds, like a TO has.

I'm all for an alternative viable option to replace TO, but as of so far the only one that intrigues me is Boldin. Though after what we saw with his behavior this past post season, is he really someone we want to replace TO? As they say, the devil you know...

There is but one true clown and that is the Clown Wade Phillips.

There's another one a step higher on the org chart.

If Jerry thinks that, he should fire every one of them.

But it looks to me like it's one or the other. You keep TO or you keep the coaches. Or, I suppose you could get rid of all of them.

Jerry is the circus-master, why would he fire clowns?

He's a RFA cutting TO leaves very little cap room to do anything else, if someone say Miami was to offer him enough chances are we can't match that and have to let him go

Why? It costs another $680k. Small change. The new contract for Ware may even lower his cap hit for 2009, freeing up Cap Space. We were in the same bind last season with Flo's contract. If memory serves after we resigned him we ended up with more cap space. I'll give Stephen Jones a bit of time working on the contract to see what gives.

I'm not a football expert, but I know a few who are. Doesn't anyone find it kind of odd that Parcells and the Dolphins are after Miles Austin. When are we going to learn? Are we going to allow Parcells to fleece us again this offseason with a one sided trade?

This can be Miles Austin's season to become a solid number 2 receiver, if not more, in the NFL. But with Owens in his way, he will not get the opportunity to reach that level. We have plenty of weapons without Owens.

I'll bet Parcells and Sparano are both sitting in Miami hoping that we keep Owens and that Austin will be available for them to acquire.

It's simple economics. You have one player whose stock is going down by the minute, and one player whose stock is going up. The SuperBowl is in the future.

What Why?

What's the point of your first paragraph? It's Jerry's fault Parcels wants Austin. What do you want him to do about it NOW? Franchise him?

Why would you think Owens is a barrier to Austin's growth? Are Bouldin and Fitzgerald impeding Breaston? If Austin's as good as you think and I hope, he'll get plenty of chances as a 3rd WR.

why the hell would we trade Austin if we were planning on cutting TO. He's the main reason it would be worth risking cutting TO.

Grasshoppah, if you have not caught on yet . . . with Jerra as GM, anything (good or bad) is possible. With Jerra galloping toward senility, he could very well trade Austin for what he believes he needs; backup QB/secondardy help/O line and really believe he is helping as a "football guy," which he isn't.

Again, don't expect the expected from jerra.

So Austin is better than TO? Really?

Maybe we should get rid of Witten, he has regressed since his best season and open things up for Bennett to get more chances.

Yep he is injury prone and can't freestyle.

He'll pass Crayton by week 2 of the preseason. come on.

I'm not saying he will be Jerry Rice, but people automatically count guys out just because of where they were drafted. Once he gets his chance, he will shine. RW11 isn't going anywhere. So the next best option is to cut Owens and get Austin on the field where he can use his speed and quickness to make a difference. Carolina didn't know what they had in Steve Smith until they got him on the field and they found out he was more than just a kick returner. Not saying Austin is Smith, but what's to say he won't be and how do we find out?

Maybe we should try and establish a running game to force safeties to play up, like the Panthers do, instead of trying to play ring-around-the-rosey with WRs... Miles Austin speed is going to be useless, with help over top, just like it was with TO this year..

Miles Austin can run better routes than Owens. I bet he doesn't quit on them, either. He's a young, hungry player. He didn't complain about the offense or playing time.

Ah, blame the safety over the top. Excuses. Nevermind, that Owens couldn't get away from the cornerbacks this season who got in his grill and gave him a physical, quick jam.

How does Ware feel about Austin? Seems his feelings about keeping TO are strong. But you may be in a better position than him to judge these things.

DeMarcus probably wants Ellis back, too. Players get played to play, not make personnel decisions. It's not there job. They can have the opinion, though. However, I expect players like Witten and Ware to take the high road. What could they gain by saying that they wanted him gone in public?

It isn't there job to fire Owens in public, regardless of how they feel. I know Jason Witten will not want to be viewed as a player who couldn't "make it work". Witten takes the high road.

So why would they be so adamant? Couldn't they say "Everyone needs to look at themselves" or "Everything is being considered" or "No comment".

Why would he come out and say those things distinctly?
