Great Post.

What I can't understand is how some people whom I know, know football and I know want this team to win as badly as I do, think removing TO is the smart play.
It's also hard for me to imagine hating a player so much that I'd want my team to suffer by not keeping him (which seems to be the case here). Methinks some folks take things a little too personal...

I don't understand, either.
I know deep down inside, where my entrails are and chemicals are churning my bagel and cream cheese and gefilte, that those people who want T.O. out are well-meaning. Still, they are fools.
Fools, I tell you!

:laugh2: we were suffering last season with all the distractions he brings whether it's his fault or not. he's not even a top 5 wr anymore imo.

they sucked before the distractions, they where false starting, not tackling, not run blocking, not covering anyone and just plain giving up in games long before TO opened his mouth.

yet somehow getting rid of him not only fixes all this but makes our worthless coaches better so much so that we'd gimp our selves cap wise to get it done?

you have to give me the number to your weed guy :laugh2:

wait until you see the offense without him this team has a hard enough time running against 7 man fronts... every week will be like the Johnson games.

Even if TO is not catching passes he still pulls a lot of coverage his way which opens everything else up

why the hell would we trade Austin if we were planning on cutting TO. He's the main reason it would be worth risking cutting TO.

He's a RFA cutting TO leaves very little cap room to do anything else, if someone say Miami was to offer him enough chances are we can't match that and have to let him go

If TO leaves, here are some things that will happen.

1. People will commend Jerry Jones, while simultaneously ripping him for ever bringing him here in the first place.
2. TO will blame everyone else for all of the problems here. He'll say that everything was overblown, and all he's ever wanted is to be a hard-working winner.
3. TO's minions will say that this isn't right. They'll say TO was the scapegoat and there are bigger problems. We'll debate the merits of these new problems for a while.
4. Tony, Witten, and Garrett will quickly remove themselves from the situation publicly, but they'll be happier when he's gone.
5. The media will ask a bunch of questions, pat themselves on the back, and the story will die soon enough.
6. But best of all, at some point afterwards, the story will be about football again.
7. When the Cowboys inevitably lose a game because they didn't score more points than their opponent, fans will bash Romo and Jerry for not making it work with a star like TO.

and that's gotten us the same results as before he was here plus a few more regular season wins in one season. he's a waste of 10 million a year that could be going towards aanother safety,ILB,d-linemen,o-linemen

This talk about money is kind of funny.

Whatever happened to spending whatever it takes to win? Remember that?

If TO is hurting your chances of winning, you spend whatever it takes to get rid of him.

So the question is, is TO hurting your chances of winning?

those 10 mill are gone either way, even if we cut him we're still paying for him which means there won't be any safety, ILB, NT, DE or o line coming any time soon.
With no cap in place for 2010 it makes a hell of a lot more sense to keep him around 1 more season and let the next coaching staff that hopefully knows what their doing make the decision to cut him

if he's cut Jerry only has to pay him for next season. he's waste and the results show it and you know it.

If Jerry thinks that, he should fire every one of them.

But it looks to me like it's one or the other. You keep TO or you keep the coaches. Or, I suppose you could get rid of all of them.

And that is exactely what is wrong with the fool! T.O. will not live on a team "even if he does not catch passes"!

His mouth would be all over the news if he does not get 19 ball thrown his way in a win...

T.O. cannot live on a team that runs, runs, runs...or other recievers get more catches than he does.

T.O. is a self-centered fool...not a team player.

I don't know what Jerry is thinking.

Because "the players and coaches are in place", according to Jerry, I'm terrified things will be pretty much the same next year, and we'll get just about the same results. More dysfunction. More drama. More popcorn. But a really crappy couple of hours of entertainment.

All I can do is stay on a message board and talk about how I would go about trying to fix this mess. Who knows what Jerry will do or thinks?
