The Brady Case

The NFL has to think of future cases as well. If they let Brady off with a fine everyone will know they backed down and every single player will threaten to go to Federal Court. Even if Bermann sides wit the NFL Brady is talking about appealing all the way to the Supreme Court.

The main road block to the NFL would be a judge issuing a stay allowing Brady to continue to play until his appeal is settled. This could take years and Brady could retire before he ever had to serve a game. If they agree to a 2 game reduction to settle the matter it may be the best course. Everyone will know Brady is guilty, even if he doesn't have to admit it.

As wealthy as Brady is, it's going to dent his pockets to keep this case going more than the NFL's pockets. Especially since it's being reported that he and Gisele are on the outs. Oh, and he has a child with Bridget Moynihan. That stuff gets pricey after a while.

Listening to the talking heads on ESPN, it doesn't sound good for the NFL with the way things went down today. Hopefully that is just their take. Everybody back before the judge in 12 days if no settlement is reached.

Yeah. That's was their take.... I just think they are wrong.

He's see it as worth it.... Until he doesn't. That time is soon.

Giselle has ALOT more money than Tom. IF they ever split she doesn't need him to support her or their kids.

I don't think they are though. They seem happy by all accounts.

Unless that's as phony as he is.

Brady is not serving 4 games
I said it before and I'm still saying it.

The judge's statements again today were very pointed toward the process of the NFL.
He seems to think dishing out the same punishment used for repeated steroids is not fitting for a player with a clean record (snicker) who is accused with no hard proof (snicker again) of letting air out of balls and then destroying his phone.

Sounds like Brady will now accept a game if it's only for obstruction. Guess we'll see.

Let the gnashing of teeth continue.

the judge is clearly looking for a reason to get brady off. He is ignoring his obstruction of the investigation and his destruction of his phone to prevent evidence being seen. Also ignoring his lies about knowing the ball guys.

That may happen. A reduction to 2 games.

Myself I don't believe so. We will see.

The only thing we know for sure is that it's going on too long.

Your "snickers" = lol

Brady will serve four games.
The judge not ruling on the Wells report, but rather if the NFL has the rights under the CBA with the NFLPA. Seems pretty cut and dry.

this is really becoming a pissing match. Both parties will have to bend so I think it's safe to say that Brady will be playing when we face them. All good.....

Has any other suspended player received the support that Brady is getting now from pundits and fans etc.? I can't think of any that have approached it.

They have really put on the full court press to try and swing the public to their side. It was expected with the pro-Boston guys like Bill Simmons, Mike Florio and ESPN. But It really hasn't picked up much traction outside of NE. Most fans are just sick of hearing about and will take any resolution as long as it goes away.

I think the 4 games can be reduced to 2 since there is no precedence either way. I was surprised by the 4 games at first but thought they got to that number in a fair manner. I believe the Wells report and believe they have done it before. If Brady agrees to 2 games with no admission of guilt I would take it as the League and move on.

I have not really followed every detail on this story but is Brady just blaming the equipment guys who got fired. If so, what a coward.

What I find extremely odd in all of this is that nobody, to my knowledge, has bothered to get the two equipment guys' testimony. Those two guys are at the very heart of this whole dispute. Why the hell didn't Goodell question them? Were they not league employees at the time of the alleged incident? Even if they were deemed to be Pats employees rather than league employees, I would think (but I could be wrong) that Goodell would have the right/power to question them directly if he wanted to. I am also shocked that some tabloid/sleaze tv show has not gotten to them for the "scoop". The reason they haven't? They have already been paid off to shut up. What other reason could there possibly be for them to remain silent in all of this? (especially since the Pats fired them...they have no reason to be loyal to the team since the team wasn't loyal to them)

Here's what has happened regarding that...

1. Statement was released that pats didn't do anything wrong. No one did within pats org did anything wrong.
2. I believe they have lawyer'd up

I believe you are right. Paid to be quiet.

The main reason I believe that is that they certainly could get a hefty payday from TMZ (or similar media types) but haven't. You know the ability to cash in big on this by giving their side of it is there, so what other reason could there be other than they have already been paid to say nothing. Like I said earlier, I find it extremely odd that the league has not questioned them. For that, I have no answer.

I am sure TMZ "I'm a lawyer" dude has tried.

Yes. That is odd. Money and perhaps loyalty talks.

There could be something to the "loyalty" angle but given that they were fired, I kind of doubt it.
