The Brandin Cooks trade doesn't solve the problem. It is the problem!

When Brandin Cooks joins the Dallas Cowboys, he will join his 5th team in his 9-year career.

Saints, Pats, Rams, Texans, and now the Cowboys. A lot of folks on here are caught up by a name they recognize and a player some wanted during the season, last year. And I'll be the first to admit that Brandin Cooks is a NICE player, he isn't what this team needs.

This team needs an offensive weapon. A "game wrecker" of sorts. Not another nice WR that will fight for number 2 touches in our offense.

It points to the obvious blind spot in the front office that most of here can see but some are blinded too as well.

IMO settling for anything short of DHop or OBJ is just that. Settling.
Oh shut up. It's a good signing, youre talking bout the name, but he's not a household name. He's a deep threat that doesn't look for a camera. Just does his job. Thats exactly what this team needs. That's exactly what ceedee needs. He's bout to make some serious money next yr, good to have a guy who knows how to act with it.

What big play is Cooks known for last season? I'll wait....I do remember him giving a similar obj temper Tamtrum about wanting to be traded and then even after not being traded taking 2 more games off for "personal reasons." Every one is so focused on the stats. What did being a top ranked offense get us the last few years. Oh that's right a participation trophy. Stats are overrated. Moments matter.
What moments did he make for a 3-13-1 team? Really? That’s your litmus test? If you can’t see he’s an actual upgrade based on his obvious talents, then, I can’t help you.

Reading is fundamental. I said he was marginally better. Yall keep talking about 1,000 yard seasons but have yet to say if he can step up when ceedee struggles. Same folks making excuses for trading Cooper and paying Gallup. I don't blindly follow the FO and think every move they make is amazing. Will he make dak better...in theory yes dependent on dak and his chemistry. But some of yall acting like he's the second coming of tyreek hill. He's not.
neither is cooper and no one said this move is amazing but it does replace that hole we had in the wr core

dudes 2nd tier as many are to an elite Hill what's your deal??seems like you have lack of talent grading, as well. No way shape or form has coop been near hills type.. Hill, Kupp, Adams, maybe Jefferson and Jamar chase if they could be called elite when they put together some more of those seasons..Dhop used to be.,

cooper never had ONE dang special elite season, dez had 3 in row if you need reference.

there not any real difference between OBJ, cooper, and cooks really a young lamb so far is on that level, not hills. hills on his own level really.

Well we should have just ordered up one of those "game-wreckers" at Walmart. Are they in the aisle next to the stud 3 Techs?

Wow, you really think highly of OBJ and late in his career Hopkins. I'd have loved Hopkins, but what we got Cooks for, AND his production are awesome.

You over rate the prior and under rate Cooks.

Just to be clear. I do think Cooks is a good pickup for the money and draft capital. But I feel like Gilmore is a bigger trade as it's going to make diggs play cornerback and not gamble nearly as much. Fo has been active so that's what we all wanted.

oops wrong year that was against the Rams where they were gashed by run2021 was the year of 14 penalties and the defense couldnt get off the field in second half. I realize you guys love to pin it all on 1 guy except of course when it was the previous guy then you got all kinds of excuses. Its never just 1 thing
Pin it one guy?

I mean he is the highest paid player on the team and it is extremely difficult to win in the playoffs when he is the worst player on the field and keeps turning the ball over

:muttley:Setting up those future excuses already?
Our WR core is STUD and the only missing hole currently is at DT someone who can push the pocket while stuffing the run.
This team is a Superbowl quality team the question remains.........well everyone knows by now what our Achilles heel is.

well you quoted 2021 and he wasnt the worst player on the field and his stats bare that out. The OLine was without a doubt pathetic that day. Now ill give him worst player on field last year. You just dont like him because he isnt romo whish he didnt do squat either. They are the same player but rarely has it been singulalry either of thems fault. And quite frankly i dont care about his pay he gets whats QBs get in fact i think hes about the 7th highest now. His pay is just the current dak haters staple go to.

you knew it when you hit reply..sorry ill stay with my intail response. qb play effected by the OL, OC and virtualy NO RUN GAME..period those al led to soem pressing.. lose by 7 blame the qb even though

No run game
OL was shaky at best
Play calling suspect as usual 16 run calls? no Malik in the 2nd half=FIRED
no weapons outside of lamb performing, Schultz 2 very critical mental mistakes in that final drive, Gallup getting knocked off his route and no effort to go fight for that INT to at least be challenged and broke up, no their other receivers did squat

Diggs 2 huge opportunity's to change the game didn't make either
Maher missed xp
defense was great but they also had soem issue not just Diggs but got beat few times with huge plays, ill give them pass but dak wasn't alone in that offensive debacle. odd you say other wrs wouldn't make difference but LAMB had game all by himself( i guess he threw it to himself) imagine anther target not making mistakes.

just imagine troy not havg 22 and that ol or that OC and coahig tsff..i can i saw him start 0-2 with 22 seldom he had no run game and all the game were put on him, quite the opposite.,.

Most qbs when forced to feel lie its them and nothing else and they tend to force stuff because nothing else there..right that never happens huh??

last 3 playoff losses much the same OL, OC and run game mia.. go check cant win if you get beat down up front. no physicality. that the commonalty in the losses

2016 loss on the defense not dak
2018 -defense gave up 300 yards on the ground, again wheres the OL and run game?
2021 -crazy OL 11 penalties got beat down again led to yup NO RUN GAME, 3 penalties on the defense
202 sure dak had bad game but there reasons, YUP again no OL, run game and other issues.,

absolutely getting whipped up from will throw many offense off. makes that max coverage kill the routes with ltitle time to throw and not much more then 4 -5 man front.. dig deeper.
No need to dig deeper, that's not this thread nor relevant to the conversation. I said two sentences about Dak having a bad game, one of them giving the guy props for the Tampa game, and you're going back to 2016 to defend the guy for some reason. There is no need to, I'm not here to bash Dak. The guy played one of the best games of his career against Tampa and had a dud the following week. You can justify why all day long, and in several aspects you're correct, but it's not relevant to the conversation.

Stop bringing up Romo. I did not bring him up at all.

An adult can decide not to like a player solely based on his on the field performance.

3 aisles over, not the next aisle. But you can have one shipped directly to you from NFL Prime, for a mere $40M. (free shipping!!)
