When Brandin Cooks joins the Dallas Cowboys, he will join his 5th team in his 9-year career.

Saints, Pats, Rams, Texans, and now the Cowboys. A lot of folks on here are caught up by a name they recognize and a player some wanted during the season, last year. And I'll be the first to admit that Brandin Cooks is a NICE player, he isn't what this team needs.

This team needs an offensive weapon. A "game wrecker" of sorts. Not another nice WR that will fight for number 2 touches in our offense.

It points to the obvious blind spot in the front office that most of here can see but some are blinded too as well.

IMO settling for anything short of DHop or OBJ is just that. Settling.

I agree with your thread topic headline at least,,,, the fact that they're still chasing wide receivers around in FA is a problem. They need freaking OL/DL and defense, the passing game has a built in limitation and it has had good receivers throughout. The only thing that will help Dak is better protection, emphasis on the run game and a stud TE... and an elite defense.

Disagree.

This last trade was him not wanting to be on a rebuild at this stage in his career.

He wasn't traded for peanuts either...Saints traded him for a 1st and 3rd to patriots. Pats traded him to Rams for 1st and 6th rounder.

Rams traded him for a 2nd rounder.

It has been circumstance in almost all of the situations, not because he wasn't a good player.

How many times has this been brought up now.
It actually solves a big problem, he brings speed at WR that can actually stretch the field, and can be a home run threat type player.

Many players go to 3 to 6 teams throughout their careers anymore. This is not an issue.
…..and we needed a #2 receiver that won’t break the bank. We don’t need nor can afford two #1 receivers.

I like this move and hope he and Rayne develop a quick chemistry between them.

OBJ played 8 seasons for the Giants, Browns and Rams. He had 531 catches for 7,367 yards and scored 57 touchdowns. He was selected to play in 3 Pro Bowls.

Brandin Cooks has 630 catches for 8,616 yards and 49 TDs since 2014.

Yeah he caught a couple passes that year i think..lol
Oh. Nothing crazy. Just OPOY award, 145 catches for 1947 yards and and 16 TDs. No big deal at all. OBJ was 100 percent the best player on the field that day :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Reading is fundamental. I said he was marginally better. Yall keep talking about 1,000 yard seasons but have yet to say if he can step up when ceedee struggles. Same folks making excuses for trading Cooper and paying Gallup. I don't blindly follow the FO and think every move they make is amazing. Will he make dak better...in theory yes dependent on dak and his chemistry. But some of yall acting like he's the second coming of tyreek hill. He's not.
You’ll have to show me the post that calls him “the second coming of Tyreek Hill”.

But we do have you on record claiming:

“I’m not too sure Cooks is that much better than Noah Brown.”

As others are getting to, the Cowboys needed an affordable #2 guy to stretch the field. Lamb's job is to break down the defense and be your go to guy. I'm not sure how much gas Cooks has in the tank but if he is close to what he was, he fits Dallas' needs pretty well. You can't have an all pro at every position and if I had to choose where the remaining money got spent, I would prefer that a fair share of it gets thrown at a DT. Not all of it at a WR2.

To me this is about building a team and doing it smart. Thus far the deals with Gilmore and now with Cook is about getting quality players and doing so on good deals. Stat wise both players are still highly productive players. Fan base is wack, one second they are hollering how cheap Jerry is then turn around and talk about how Jerry overpays. well these deals are good deals for this team with quality players. I don't care if Hopkins is the better player fact is his right belong to the Cards and OBJ? he wants big money longterm deal despite the fact he is coming off 2 ACL in as many years.
