He isn't going to be fired.

People might as well get used to that fact.

Romo being lost for the vast majority of this season bought him the out that he was going to need to get through another year of not being able to be a quality HC. He's continuing his coaching in training process here in Dallas.

You're probably right, but never say never. Social media has evolved into this giant poll for the masses that the people in charge actually pay attention to. If enough people voice their displeasure, things can escalate to a point where change can actually take place.

I'm usually the last guy to blame the coaches. This team is not talented, nor well coached. I've come to grips with the Cowboys being mediocre. years like 2007, 2009, and 2014 are outliers. There's a reason the Cowboys are now mentioned with the Lions, Browns, Commanders, and those teams. It starts at the top. Jerry is comfortable with Jason, that's his handpicked coach. It will take another season or two of a trainwreck like this for Jerry to make a change. Then he will hire another coach he is "comfortable" with. Rinse, repeat. Never ending cycle with this organization. Love this team to death, but extremely frustrating and disheartening.

Possibly but I don't think so.

Jerry doesn't care about things like that I don't believe. I think Garrett is his guy and that's the way he wants to keep it. I honestly believe he's content with continuing to let Garrett train on the job.

And Jason is not a good coach, because he is totally resistant to change as is exemplified in the Callahan fiasco.

Jerry already admitted this year that Callahan wanted to run the offense and last year, pretty much said Jason didn't let him and pointed out the different philosophies, Callahan coming from a West-Coast. Jerry compromised and brought in Linehan.

With Jason, you are stuck with his playbook, otherwise he's going to cry and Jerry isn't going to do anything about it. With the playbook gone, he's even more useless than he is now.

December 16, 2007, Jim Johnson figured Garrett out, and the rest was history.

he just kind of caught the league by surprise.

Also, TO and 25 year old Jason Witten.

We still got free runners on the blitz regularly. It's a joke...

Cry about it. Moan about it. Complain about it. It might make you feel better. But, Garrett's not going anywhere. He's staying right where he is.

Jason Garret was the offensive coordinator in 2007, a year where the Dallas offense was unstoppable. TO had over 1300 yards with 15 TDs, witten had over 1000 yards receiving, and crayon had almost 700 yards receiving as well.

So why did Garrett's system so much more effective in 07 then it is now. Has he changed his principles or where the 07 receivers far better than these cowboy receivers. I see a lot of arguments concerning the offensive scheme but Garrett scheme looked awfully good a few years ago. I'm wondering if TO stretched the field more and got better separation w crisper routes and a younger faster witten was able to expose the defense underneath.

The fact yiu think that was Garrett is awesome. Tony Sparano my friend. Tony Sparano made Jason Garrett relevant in this league.

Garrett's throwing everyone else under the bus has come back to haunt him in the form of Karma.

Even if TO is an idiot, apparently he was right a long time ago.

How long can you keep blaming everyone and everything else before there is no one left to blame except yourself?

He was a tight ends coach and run game coordinator for bill parcels, and during the transition he was a tight ends coach and assistan head coach to Phillips. Now he's a tight ends coach for the 49 ers. That guy? I see the magic he's working in San Fran.

I actually agree though. Something is wrong with Garrett and the coeboys scheme. Just playing devils advocate.

Jerry probably doesn't care, but I'm sure he has people working under him who does. I do think you are right as far as us being stuck with Garrett for a while.

Answer these questions

Is Garrett a titular head and the shots are called by the Jones boys?

If the answer is Yes, then firing Garrett will make no difference.

Could Garrett be replaced by Sean Payton from New Orleans?

If the answer is Yes, then firing Garrett would be acceptable.

Does Payton demand running the team as he sees fit?

If the answer is Yes then he would not be hired.

Would Payton DEMAND Brees come to the Cowboys since he will surely get cut because of his 19 million dollar hit to the cap?

If the answer is Yes, then Payton is out.

Would any really decent football mind join an organization that's focus is to control every decision so the owner can get recognition for his contribution because the owner is an egotistical narcissistic who, it now appears, has taught the heir apparent only the owner can make all the judgment calls?

(I think of Ron Rivera, who applied for the head coaching job in Dallas, and how he is an up and coming head coach who has righted that ship, and how drastically different his career would look after going through the Jones School of Head Coaching in Dallas)

If the answer is yes, who? And how quickly will his career be tainted?

Would Jerry - at this point - ever hire someone and allow them enough control to actually make the changes needed to win?

If the answer is Yes, then you need to share your medicinal recreation drugs with the rest of us.

Not certain Jason gets all of the blame here, or even the majority. He plays with scared money. And that alone is why he will fail. But his being handcuffed by the management, and having to kowtow to their maniacal rantings about their contributions has forever blemished whatever career he thinks he has going forward.

He was a lousy offensive coordinator. Other than his perfecting the hand clap, he seems to be exactly what Jerry Jones wants as a head coach.

You apparently haven't been watching the Cowboys long. Tony Sparano was the brains behind our entire season in 2007. Not Garrett.

I don't get the infatuation with Tony, but he's better than Garrett. It's really just a testimony to how awful Garrert has been that Sporano can outshine even Garrett by a large margin. That being said, our offense was figured out at the end of 2007, as is evidenced by our poor December and the TO high-ankle sprain.

We wouldn't be having this discussion if Payton was here and took over the reigns of the offense.

I have but I can't seem to find any supporting evidence that he was the brains. Can you show me some. I tried googles but nothing says saprano bring the brains behind the cowboys offensive scheme.

Jason is a totally fraud of a coach. He has cost the team wins each year with his ineptness.

When ever Jerry lets him go, he'll be out of football period. No one will hire him again, just watch.
