Exactly, Jerry Jones hinted about that, their riding this year out, getting Cassell ready for next year. Their going to play Dez, get him lots more practice and reps which he needs Jerry said today. Jason Garrett isnt going anywhere, if anything I would replace our QB coach, because Weeden sure wasnt ready. I might also fire our secondary coach, because did our cbs and safeties make any key interceptions by stepping in front of the wr and taking ball to the house. Carr no interceptions in about 3 years now, Mo no interecptions I believe this year. That makes a statement right there!

That's a big concern there. I do believe that Jerry is willing to sit pat with Cassel as the back up next year because he'll have the full offseason here for next year. I just have this feeling, from his previous statements that he has every intention of sticking with Matt as the back up for Romo.

I'm afraid even if we finish 3-13 that this team will not go for the QB of the future cause they're going to continue to bank entirely on Romo and they'll go Corner, Safety, or maybe O-line again in an attempt to put more talent around the team and win with Romo at the helm.

I have no problem with believing Romo can still do it, as I believe he can, but you do have to plan for life after Romo and now is definitely that time to start putting that plan into action.

And it was really Garrett's fault anyways.. Just another fall guy in the training process of Garrett...

While I will agree that Garrett was part of the problem for Wade it was more the fact that Wade lost the team, entirely, that got him fired. The whole team (Except Dez and Witten) basically quit on him entirely the moment Romo went down.

Well it was still the first half and all Carolina points came from pick 6. The D was playing good and I was thinking we could pick the heat up in the 2nd half. The team just needed points.

It was halfway through the 3rd quarter. You might be thinking of the 4th and goal early on.

Look at Garrett's hire and ask yourself if he never had any control.

He got Hudson Houck from Miami
He got Derrick Dooley who he coached with in Miami
He got Kiffen and supposedly worked with him via Tampa or some garbage
He got his brothers in the organization, John Garrett TE coach, then promoted to passing game coordinator as well
Scott Linehan last year, whom he also worked with, to offset changes by Callahan

Jason brought the Cad Cameron era of Miami over to Dallas..

Why people think Jason was ham-strung and completely shackled by Jerry is just utter ridiculousness... This guy has brought over coach that comes from his 'coaching tree', which he even ties to Saban..

This explains your Dallas Cowboys... We are the Cad Cameron Miami Dolphins... Garrett's offense is really more closely aligned to that, as opposed to any other Coryell coached offense..

I was a MILD defender of coaching... But after the dust settled I realize I'm not now.

I wouldn't mind Marinelli and Linehan being fired. Marinelli not as much, just needs a stern talking to about needing to get turnovers and sacks. With all the names he should be able to do that. We shouldn't be worried about a 3rd and 17 conversion. Linehan, has lost all moxie for playcalls and has NO IDEA how to utilize Dez. Dez should be taking over games with Romo's escapability.

We've talked about this before, but both have a complete lack of ability to adjust and it's lost a lot of games for us. When we're healthy beside Oscan, you can't perform they way we did on Thursday in a must win. I don't care if we were playing the '85 Bears.

Marinelli needs talent to work with. Look what he did in Chicago with players that executed within the scheme. Look at Chicago defense since Lovie and Rod left. We need a secondary and need to continue to build up front defensively as well as linebackers who can be depended on. Linehan and JG need to go as soon as Tony retires.

To be fair to Linehan he is just calling Garretts plays.

All he is really here for is to make sure Garrett does lose balance.

I don't know what you're going to say to Marinelli that is going to change anything. He has already completely changed his coaching philosophy. At this point, if the marriage isn't working, you move on. You can't ask that guy to change any more than he already has.

As for Linehan, I don't think it matters who is calling the plays as long as Garrett makes them run his playbook. The only thing that is really going to shake up this offense is bringing in a lot of new wrinkles. It doesn't matter who is calling plays if Garrett won't allow that.

it is very unlikely the Jones fires Garrett, Garrett should realize that his offensive philosophy is outdated and teams have long ago figured it out. Garrett, for whatever reasons, doesn't continually make adjustments or come up with new wrinkles. NFL coordinators easily figure out his offense and are ready for it. This offense worked well in the championship years because we had Irvin, Aikman and Smith plus the complimentary Novacek, Johnston and Harper. The closest this offense has to that is Romo and Witten. Dez gets distracted and taken out of is game easily, and the RBs are nothing special.

Same on defense and Marinelli. His defense has been outed, teams know how to attack it successfully. He makes little to no adjustments, and stubbornly plays less talented players.

It's time for new schemes on both sides of the ball. Coughlin finally figured this out and fired his long time OC and brought in a new philosophy. All continuity does in Dallas' case is continuing more of the Garrett mediocrity on both sides of the ball.

You can't be "knee jerking" after five years under this guy when the process hasn't gone anywhere and when you finally think you've righted the ship in the fourth year, it turned out to be farce because in the fifth year the team has actually tremendously regressed.

This narrative is knee jerking to the extent that Garrett will be back in 2016.

He is at times a poor game manager,,wierd timeouts or lack thereof, wierd challenges, etc.

I do not think this team will win a SB with him,,,but the Jones are invested in him for now and will allow him to continue to grow into the job. Silly as it may sound, I bet ya' his cutting of CM and the other guy for not wearing a suit on the road bought him some equity with JJ.

I'll give Marinelli this, he's playing with a secondary that was drafted/recruited for Rob Ryan's man scheme, which requires more athleticism than brains (and they definitely lack the latter). Byron Jones is the one exception and he's performed well.

That being said, we do have the "rushmen" that Marinelli has picked for his scheme, and they're underachieving as well. In order to truly run his scheme we need more zone guys to truly judge what kind of coordinator Rod can be. I really think they need to focus on the secondary and 1 tech this offseason.

As far as Linehan, he's running a version of Garrett's system and that just speaks for itself. We need an overhaul here, which means Garrett needs to go so we can get rid of this system.

They brought in Linehan to run Garrett's offense, otherwise Callahan was scrapping it. Jason does everything in his power to resist that type of change.

Linehan is here precisely because of this fact. Jerry admitted it.

Thats so true. The Garrett playbook has cursed this team for almost a decade now. We will never see the light of day if Garrett and his playbook is thrown out the door.

Linehan did something right last year. He took some of the plays that Callahan drew up and implemented into the system. All it did was get us into the playoffs.

Then we let Callahan go and we are now back to Garrett's vanilla playbook.

Basically, we took everything that was working last year and threw it out the door. Now we have a wasted season and Tony getting injured because of it.

This is a testimony to Garrett and how much his style is a cancer to this team.

His resistance to change for the betterment of the team and only whats good for himself is what is killing us. Not the players or the other coaches. Its Garrett.
