Ray hit one from the deep corner before House and Allen hit the last two 3's.

I'm PO'd that Tony Allen was guarding Billups there..... Stupid foul not needed.....

which should have been a 2 because his foot was on the line.

May be - but he landed well into bench after launching that Bomb. Don't have it on Tivo to review

even the announcers said it and they showed it on the replay. but whatever it counts as a 3 now.

your kidding right, that was clearly a two, they showed the replay 3 times. but anyway, it didnt affect the end. Tony Allen did nothing wrong, chauncey took a gamble by using a pump fake with so little time left, and it paid off, thats it.

One thing is for certain - sporting a 20-3 record with six games left in December, Boston should be able to match or exceed their win total from last year (24) by year's end.

BOSTON (AP) -- The Boston Celtics have only lost one home game this season, and that was plenty for Kevin Garnett.

"What you saw tonight was what we call 'stopping the bleeding,"' he said after the Celtics beat Chicago 107-82 on Friday to stop their losing before it became a streak.

"When we lose, we want it to be very, very, very, very few, and we want to learn from what mistakes we made in the loss and apply it in the next game. I thought we did a good job of that."

Paul Pierce scored 15 of his 22 points in the third quarter, going 4-for-4 from 3-point range in the period as the Celtics pulled away. Boston recovered quickly from Wednesday's last-second loss to Detroit, taking an early lead against the Bulls, never trailing and never surrendering its double-digit lead after scoring 10 consecutive points to make it 40-22 with 7:50 left in the first half.

"The loss to Detroit left a bad taste in our mouths," said Pierce, who joined Garnett on the bench for the fourth quarter. "It didn't matter who we played tonight, we were going to come out and take it to them. It didn't matter who was in the building."

Pierce added seven rebounds and Ray Allen scored 18 for the Celtics, who still have the best record in the NBA (21-3) despite ending their franchise record-tying home win streak at 12 on Wednesday.

"We were fired up," said Garnett, who had 12 points and seven rebounds. "The Detroit game was still on our minds. We wanted to get back to the things we know we do well."

Ben Gordon scored 19 for Chicago, and rookie Aaron Gray had 14 to reach a career-high for his second consecutive game filling in for the injured Ben Wallace. Tyrus Thomas grabbed nine rebounds for the Bulls, who had won eight straight against Boston before losing in their first matchup this season.

"You hope for more," coach Scott Skiles said, adding that he would look at the tape to make sure his team didn't give up. "It just seemed like we gave in to it a little bit. And against a team like that they are going to sense that, (and) you're going to be in trouble."

Chicago seemed to have the answer for Pierce, holding him to 10 points or fewer in three of the previous four games -- including a season-low eight points twice last year. Guarded by Luol Deng, Pierce missed five of his first seven shots on Friday before getting on target in the third, hitting three 3-pointers and three free throws in a six minute span that helped Boston turn a 16-point lead into an 84-61 blowout.

Garnett had a scare late in the first half when he was poked in the right eye by Joakim Noah while fighting for a rebound; he did not leave the game.

Wallace missed his second consecutive game with bone spurs in his left foot.

Boston led by as many as 22 points in the first half.

If the road to the NBA Finals goes through Boston as it appears,
Might be tough to beat the Celtics.

Looking past the 21-3 start as its only almost January. There are only 8 NBA Teams that have a winning record on the road. In fact Spurs and Mavs have a losing record on the road.

The West is wide open with the Spurs on a 6-4 rut

These two teams have been very good on the road for several years. Considering the Spurs and Mavs have only played 11 and 13 road games so far, respectively, I wouldn't take the bet that those numbers will project to losing records over the course of a full season.

But I won't argue that Boston most likely will have home court throughout when the playoffs start.

i didnt realize the season ended soon, but why dont you go see if it helped the mavs, pistons, suns, and pacers win a championship when they had the best record recently. the celtics still have only played 2 decent team and lost both games. Good thing the playoffs start in late april, not next week

haha, your right, cuz the mavs were so GREAT in april last year, and the pistons were so great in the playoffs the year before when they won 64. the fact of the matter is that the celtics are a good team, but they aren't gonna beat any team from the west in a 7 game series. Oh, and they still have only played 2 really good teams, and lost both games!

Yes, both games they had shots at end to win also.

And Beat Orlando tonight in rematch....

Boston 103, Orlando 91

BOSTON (AP) -- Paul Pierce had 24 points to lead balanced scoring from the Celtics' starters, and Boston raced to a 103-91 victory over the Orlando Magic on Sunday night.

Rajon Rondo added 23 points and Ray Allen 22 for the Celtics (22-3), who have the best record in the NBA and avenged an earlier loss to the Magic. Kevin Garnett had 21 points to go along with 12 rebounds.

The Celtics led by as many as 20 in the third quarter. But the Southeast Division-leading Magic, who handed the Celtics their first loss on Nov. 18, twice cut the lead to fewer than 10 in the fourth quarter.

Both times, Allen responded with 3-pointers to put the Celtics back up by a dozen.

anyone think they'll get to 70 wins?

Well I know they cant win 80.......who cares if they win 70 or much less 79........all it takes is getting into the playoffs.....and doing damage there.

The Pistons and Mavs were top seeds who failed to win the last few years.....The Spurs were the top seed in 95, but the 6th seed Rockets beat them and went on to win the NBA Title.........heck both years the Rockets were middle seeds and won.

Last year the Spurs were a 3 seed and won.

let Nors enjoy his regular season..........I mean I enjoy mine as well........but I save most of my energy and focus for the playoffs, when the Spurs truly shine.

The scary thing about the Celtics for those not watching them play.

They can player even better than they are. Rondo is turning into a top end point guard....

4 game west coast swing starts tonight.

53-29 Celtics at half. On A 35-3 RUN

I really don't see how teams stop this madness. Ray Allen bombing from 3. Paul Pierce slashing and can bury 3's. Garnett is lights out with the ball. This Rondo kid is an amazing athlete, better than many are aware of.

If they hold serve its up to 9-2 on road. To put that in perspective Spurs and Mavs were below .500 on road and only 8 NBA teams have a winning record on road.

I suspect Celts get a stiffer test next 3 road games. They are disecting Sacramento.

Boston 89, Sacramento 69

23-3 and 9-2 on the road

Boston needs to get a backup point guard. House is a great 3 point shooter but can't handle the point. Ray Allen can some but he can't play 48 minutes.....
