Regarding Lawrence, he put up 25 sacks in 2 seasons and was paid a healthy extension for being an 'elite' pass rusher. Since his extension, he has put up 11.5 sacks in 2 seasons while also seeing his QB hits drop from 49 in the 2 seasons before his extension to 26 in the 2 seasons after his extension and his tackles for loss drop from 29 the 2 seasons before the extension to 21 in the 2 seasons after his extension. Also of note is that in 2018 (before his extension) DLaw had 42 QB pressures yet after his extension he registered 29 QB pressures in 2019 and 26 QB pressures in 2020. Lastly, his QB hurries went from 20 in 2018 (before his extension) to 13 in 2019 and 14 in 2020.

The point I am making is that DLaw was paid as an 'elite' pass rusher and after his extension the pass rusher stats saw a decrease pretty much across the board.
Lawrence has never been a elite pass rusher so if that's why they paid him then they failed.

But like I asked earlier, who gets paid and gets better as they get older? In theNFL?

Yep...................yet all you do is complain about Dak. Agenda?

Actually I questioned Romo's contract extension, Zeke's contract extension, DLaw's contract extension, J. Smith's contract extension, and Cooper's contract extension to name a few.......so I do not think I blindly go after Dak so much as the whole Dallas team and specifically the thinking of the management team.

Oh, and you respond to a post I made about DLaw so how is that going after Dak?

Thats a really poor apples to oranges comparison attempt there. Between injuries and contract situations the circumstances aren’t remotely close to Crawford.
How so? You said who else handed out Crawford deals....did Crawford not suffer injuries?

How about I leave that to experts like you? The Cowboys will save a lot of money by dumping those guys.

Then leave it to the same ‘experts’ to talk about the cap. And don’t make claims otherwise.

We been through this before. You start saying crap like take your head out of the sand and anything like that. My head is not in the sand. Your's is. I asked you a question. What does Jaylon's contract have to do with this?
NOTHING.
Was it a bad contract? Yes in hindsight, int is. Was it at the time, no is wasn't.

Unbiased eyes? NO. You sure do have biased views though.

It was definitely a bad contract at the time because he had a year or two left when it was extended. Just like with zeke it would have made much more sense to play it out. Had we done that with both guys the extension more than likely never get done.

Yes, 13-3 is winning and was accomplished 5 years ago. Since then this team has gone 33-31 just like in the 6 seasons prior to going 13-3 the team went 56-50. Since 2010 Dallas has had 4 winning seasons in 11 seasons......again, that could be why some members have a level of frustration in their approach to Dallas.
Everyone is frustrated after 26 years of futility. It's just that some of us don't let it ruin our lives.

Yes. And unlike those players you listed, the Cowboys knew he had them, had a clear OUT on his deal for TWO YEARS, but willingly CHOSE to continue to dump money down a well. There’s the key difference.

You know what's wild with this fanbase is that we complained that they should've got Dak done early but complain that they got Jaylon and Tyrone Crawford done early.

So why dont you complain about the rest of them every day like you do with Dak?

He didn't have any injuries when they signed him. If you're frustrated they didn't get out form under the deal then fair enough. But you said who else handed out a deal and there are teams that handed out far worse deals than what Crawford got handed out.

I get the frustration. I honestly think what they handed out Lawrence was far more criminal and I'm a Lawrence fan but they handed him 100 million with injuries and knowing he was not a elite pass rusher.

Fair enough. But you get my point. It was about the team STAYING in that bad deal.

That’s another one, and with the restructuring on Lawrence’s deal, they only dig themselves in deeper. Like every recent big deal, Stephen Jones botched it.

You mean an expert like you that has to go look on Spotrac?

I never claimed to be an expert. But now using a resource to be informed is a BAD THING? Certainly better than being a blowhard making false, uninformed, unsupported claims.

So it’s the fanbase’s fault that the team made those poor choices?

There's a difference....but I'm still for it. If I can get quality at a cheaper deal by getting a player done early? I do it. I sign Randy Gregory right now. Hell I would've signed LVE early as well.

To me I don't want to get to the point of where I have a pay a guy market value because I waited until he produced at a high level in order to sign him. Now, this approach will backfire at times. It worked when they had Jay Ratliff and it failed on Crawford. But I can only really think of two times its failed and that was Crawford and Jaylon. That's not going to stop me from doing it.

So you are the Cap expert police? LOL

Just another punk that uses spotrac and thinks that makes him an expert.

The Lawrence deal will kill them eventually. They better hope when it time the cap is much higher than it is now.

Again, better than the alternative. A blowhard who makes claims about things they CLEARLY know nothing about. And then throws yet another tantrum about being corrected by those who know better.
