McCarthy coached with one of the greatest QBs of all time and in 13 seasons he won only one SB.

His "production" is questionable.

That track record seems awfully similar to a man referred to here, by some, as a "great coach" on a regular basis.

I think both of them underachieved, given what they had at their disposal.

Dude this statement makes everything else you bring up in regards to qb play pretty much laughable

ole noodle arm from Boise state is not and has never been considered the best qb here
Having him get hurt in 16 was a blessing although Dak would have taken the job soon enough anyway
You don't know football.

Anyone who thinks Dak is the problem isn’t a very educated fan. The Cowboys wouldn’t even be a viable team with a lesser QB. The Cowboys have plenty of issues but their QB isn’t one of them. We had the number one offense in the league with him last season. Prior to his injury in 2020 we were leading the league in offense. He has a solid winning percentage and he’s one of the most productive QBs in the NFL.
So, with that number 1 offense, why does Dak choke when the games are tough, and only pick up yardage when the opponent is way ahead?

He’s played well in a number of big games. We’ve won the NFC East three times with him. He beat Russell Wilson in a playoff game. The Bucs were never way ahead in the opener last season and he picked up a ton of yardage and we would have won the game had it not been for our defense. He would have beaten Aaron Rodgers in the 2016 playoffs had it not been for our defense. He didn’t play his best football the second half of last season and some fans are acting like that’s what he’s been his entire career and they’re wrong! In this post from last season you claimed he had no leadership and leadership is one of his best qualities. No one who knows football has ever questioned his leadership. This post proves how little you know about football. You based some of your comments in that post on the coaching the past six years which hasn’t been good. Garrett got fired and McCarthy is currently on the hot seat.

Somebody has to say it. It's asked on here all the time- what are the Cowboys needing?
This is based on the personnel and coaching of the past 6 seasons.
The defense plays great, and the running game has been sufficient to superb.
But the offense lacks the punch of an accurate quarterback with the leadership ability and the drive to get the team moving early.
When the Cowboys faced Kyler Murray and Jimmy Garappolo, and even back to the Raiders with Derek Carr, the difference was the play of the quarterbacks.
Those teams had leadership under center and were attacking during the entire game, whereas the Cowboys offense misses at least1/3 of tough games and only moves after the opposing team has a big lead.
There it is. Period.

The Cowboys finally have the coaching; they generally have talent to match opposing teams and have wasted hundreds of millions of dollars over the years- along with the careers of some great players because of poor coaching.
But they still seem intent on refusing to move past Jason Garrett.
They will fix everything else, but leave Garrett's quarterback to pull the team down.
Sad.
Thought you were gonna talk about Moore, I am not sold on him and would like to see Mac more involved in the offense.

Undisciplined play and penalties kill everyone's best work.

When your team has more penalties than the other teams that played that weekend combined you don't have to look far to see where the problem is.

You literally said Kellen Moore - who has never won a game as an NFL QB - is better than Dak, and this is your big "gotcha" comeback? :muttley:
It's simply truth that Dak hasn't produced. Kellen would have.

So do overthrows.

Well, why don't you enlighten us about how the Cowboys have achieved greatness?
As far as I can tell they still struggle on offense with a quarterback chokes.
Looks like they'd want better. I like Dak as a person, but he isn't a NFL caliber leader/quarterback.
The season hasn't even started yet. Let's give the team a few games before dooming the season. Geez
