Zeke getting a chance to sign with a playoff team just reminds me of all the careers this team has wasted without a title the past three decades.

I mean Tony Romo, Jason Witten, Miles Austin, Terence Newman, Dez Bryant, now probably Zack Martin and DeMarcus Lawrence, and many others.

At least DeMarcus Ware got a ring with Denver.

You only cut him now because he may have an opportunity to sign with a playoff team . I bet by weds he's with a new team. The Commanders or CHIEFS ?
OR this is Jerry wanting to show that he is tough on his players. Elliot missed or was late for several meetings — that’s when you cut someone.

Then Zeke should have been cut two months ago, because that's when the meeting stuff allegedly happened.

Seems like the Cowboys did Zeke a solid by releasing him to afford him the opportunity to sign with a playoff team. I bet a dollar his agent has fielded a few calls from playoff teams inquiring about his possible availability which led to the agent making a call the Zeke to make a call to Jerry asking for his release. Like I said.. I don't know what he has left.. but it's a damn sight more than what the Cowboys did with him. If nothing else he should have been the clear cut short yardage and red zone back.

How at this point could you unsure about what he has left? Zeke was a great back here at one point, he’s absolutely cooked right now. Goal line back, extra blocker or short yardage. Nothing else

Zeke represents everything wrong with the Cowboys. Lazy, complacent, spoiled and entitled. Derrick Henry was in the same draft class and he has the work ethic to still remain elite. Zeke even before the draft was known to be a guy with questionable work ethic and intangibles.
True but his punching skills are good unless he’s fighting a man.

One of the dumbest offseason signings in the Jones Boys history. A position in desperate need of talent after Pollard left.

So many great RBs available with tread still left and weren’t much more expensive.

Derrick Henry, Saquon Barkley, Aaron Jones….

Henry wanted to come to Dallas. Jones had history with the Coach. No significant draft picks.

Sucks when even most of the fans can identify a bad move way before the GM.

I do love my Zeke memories though and wish him well on his quest to become another Cowboys all-time great with a ring on another team.

Ask all those players if they would rather have a ring and half the money they made or no ring and all the money?

'member when Irvin cut someone in the shower?

Zeke won a Natty by running 750 yards on 4 of the best teams the NCCAA had to offer in the first playoff format year.

And you got the nerve to say that is questionable work ethic?

You never saw his very first play at ohio state did you?

Henry never had to do the blocking Zeke had to do. Henry would also sit when injured. Zeke PLAYED.

Your ignorance might be cute if it wasn't so ignorant.

Thanks for the memories-Zeke. Appreciated your hard play. So sorry that you came to a lame duck team ran by an idiot...

He was never the same after forcing himself to play while injured in 2020 I believe. Coaches should have had the sense to sit him, but here we are.
Well...you got these holes saying zeke doesn't have a work ethic. The Cowboys asked him to play while injured and he played.

They asked him to play center and the entire o-line and zeke did it...but he has a BAD WORK ETHICCCCCCC!

Would they have asked Henry to do it? And would Henry have agreed? No on BOTH counts.

We live in a bizzarro world.

Twilight Zone of a season

you sign Elliott and pass on Henry
You dont play him and sign Cook
You put him back in and keep Cook on the practice squad
You release him just before the final game

This makes no sense
