Now that Dak is out for the season expect Zeke and Pollard to get a lot more touches like in the 25-30 range and believe me that will help that limp noodle defense.

I don't buy into that. We don't have the offensive line that we use to. Controlling the clock with the run game isn't something McCarthy teams do. Also the strength of this team is the WR's

Why is the RPO no more?
The RPO is fine, but it opens him up for hits. I know he can hand it to Zeke or fake it and pass, but he doesn't need to be reading the end and running himself as that third option. Traditional play action please.

Expect the opposite. Teams will stack the box and force the Red Rifle to beat them, and he will shred them with these WRs.
I think this is correct. It will be a HUGE test for our WRs to get open. We will see how elite this receiving corps is.

Let’s see if we get Zeke Elliott or Joseph Randle in the backfield on Monday night.

Can we still blame the QB when he throws a bad pass under sever duress or when a WR drops a pass that was 3" too low or too high? Will it still be the QB's fault if a ball bounces off a receivers hands for an int? Is it still bad when the QB throws a TD pass that should have been picked off?

Asking for a friend.

The red train doesn't panic

Actually he does. From SI Bear digest:
"He's often been criticized for an inability to properly handle the pass rush—he'll turn into it instead of sensing the heat to run away from it."

From bleacherreport in 2012 (only Dalton's second year, but tendencies are hard to overcome):

Dalton knows the pass rush is coming... To diffuse this, Dalton goes with a play-action fake.
No one bites on the play-action, but Dalton still finds himself with some time to make a play—and an open receiver to his right. Dalton's not looking at him, though.
The pocket starts to collapse. Dalton is thus running out of time, but he could also try a desperation dump-off to running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis, who is to his left.
Instead, Dalton takes the sack. He doesn't throw the ball away, and he doesn't target his two open men in short yardage. It's like his brain freezes and he just stands there and takes the hit and the six-yard loss.

Dalton's always been rather poor at handling a good pass rush, and with this line he'll certainly get that. Maybe MM and KM can call plays to neutralize the rush - screens, play action, quick slants, etc. We'll see, but what we have to hope we don't see is the same Dalton Cincy saw for years...

A short, quick passing game would likely be a wise way to attack. It allows the OL to get by without being obliged to maintain their pass blocks for an excessive amount of time. Our young and relatively inexperienced o-linemen would likely benefit from such a strategy. Of course, that's not to say the running game should be abandoned, by any means. A well balanced attack seems an advisable way to operate on offense, if possible.

They'll do it until we beat it. They'll back off once we constantly beat it. They'd be stupid not to try.

Never know, good defensive coordinators tend to surprise the other team with their game plan a lot of the time. And with this line, do they really need to stack the box to stop Zeke?

They may be willing to first see if they can stop the Dallas running game with their usual alignment. Besides, sure they're going to say "we're going to go all in to stop Zeke", doesn't always mean they will actually do it.

You have a good chance of being right, but we'll see....

That was going to happen anyway.
More like the Giants or Rams game

We only get to face the three worst pass defenses (Seahawks, Falcons, Browns) once this year, and thats already behind us.

Going forward, it is mosly the opposire; many of the teams we face defend the pass better than the run.

We should run more, put stll throw it, of course

Yes, it's a good bet the Cards will put up lots of yards and points, everybody but the Rams so far this year have done that, throw too much and have a couple of 3 and out drives, and it'l be the same old same old - get behind early and have to throw, throw and throw some more. IF the running game can go at least some, keeps our poor defense off the field...

Dude, Patrick Peterson already said they were going to stack the box, not let Zeke run, and make Dalton beat them through the air. What more do you need?
The Cards always try to get teams to attempt to throw on their strong pass D.
That is their strategy regardless.

anyway, he did not say stack the box.

If we throw 50 times vs the Cards, there will be 2-3 picks and maybe a sack/fumble.
Unlike Seattle, Atlanta, and Cleveland, they have a really good pass defense.

Whatever the Cardinals try, it should become pretty obvious to Kellen in short order.

Let's hope he remains alert to take note of what happens and call plays accordingly.

In 2012, Dalton's 2nd year he was sacked 46 times which is 10 less than Dak's worst sack year (56 in 2018). He has averaged ~30 sacks/year since 2011.

Since 2016, over 4 years, Dak has averaged 34 sacks/year (not counting this year, since it's incomplete).

So actually Andy has averaged less sacks/year than Dak.

The man is a Dallas Cowboy. I will only accept “The Red Rifle” as a nickname. None of this Rooster foolishness.
Absolutely AGREE!!! The Rooster bit in the title is condescending for sho. Only change in the offense will be that we score even more points per game. :flagwave:as long as the OC doesn't go all soft and conservative because "oh my we only have a backup now!" Hopefully, if the Giants game is any indication, these coaches gotta be smarter than to play "down" for Andy and not use our main big battle weapons which is the receivers because our D will still be giving up 30-ish points per game and relying on Zeke for 40 carries into a brick wall ain't gonna stop dat unless their leaving big holes open for him. Then take dat!!

BTW I despise the negativity of Dalton bashers before they've even seen him in an entire game. Like infatuated little girls infatuated with Dak/ Sorry to break your hearts but our man is Dalton now and you need to support him little girls and stop crying. This is a team sport last I checked and this one is ours.

Moore may tweak the offense a tad, but rest assure, the best WR corps in the league will be used as it was w/Dak. Dalton/Gallup already have the connection.

Use Zeke early because that's when he's the best. BOOM!
