First, I said regular season not preseason 2nd half film.

Second, the second video saw him get the edge untouched and run straight into the S. He made no one miss.
Do you understand what is happening on the field and how there is no way Deuce could have made the tackler miss 10 yards down the field, or do you like acting ignorant even though the film clearly shows why Deuce was unable?

You have it completely backwards. They have to put him in a position to be his best. They didn't. He got hit at or behind the line so often of course his YPC is going to be low. They didn't call anything special for him. Just go in there and run a few plays. That isn't how you use Deuce. It's not just being dumb. It's being dumb and stupid on Big Mikes part.

I don't care if he got 5 or 50 carries. If he isn't be used right, it's just not going to matter and it's a wasted down. If he puts the Cowboys behind the chains, blame Big Mike not Deuce. It's not making excuses. It's just being realistic. Was he misused? Yes. End of story.
At his size putting him in the best position to be his best wouldn’t be running the football. Do what they were doing in OTA’s and put him in the slot and use him as a receiver. This will allow him get out in space and use his quickness and agility. That would be his best chance of breaking off a big play.

He got 23 carries that’s more than most rookie 6th round picks get that have two backs ahead of them. Especially when most of their carries are for losses. Just like I keep saying he has to make the most of his opportunities. They’re not going use him in the running game if he keeps putting us behind the chains with negative carries. Make all the excuses you want but he only averaged 1.7. That’s not going to earn him more opportunities.

How many carries did he get behind the STARTING offensive line? I don't recall too many, if any at all, but maybe you can find the carries that I didn't see.....

Most of his carries came with our starting OL. Dak was still playing. They’re not going to put our backup OL in when Dak is still in the game.

I said most of his carries were with the starting OL which isn’t accurate. Wasn’t able to edit my first post. I’m too lazy to look it up but he got most of his attempts when we had games wrapped up. However, not sue we pulled our entire starting OL. I do know he did get a few carries early in a game earlier in the season.

I would like to see what he could do behind the starting line with a few game planned plays before we write him off as obsolete, is all I'm saying.

I suspect the pressure on Deuce is on, to the point that TC and the preseason games are likely to govern his being retained by the Cowboys. Last season, his performance wasn't up to the preferred standards that this team usually demands.

I doubt another preseason of far less than impressive performances would be likely to ensure his success. Perhaps his performance last year wasn't indicative of what he'd normally provide. Another year of poor performance shouldn't be enough to retain his job with the Cowboys, imho.

I heard he had been watching Cole Beasley tapes I hope he can be as productive. Im rooting for him don't think he is Sproles but I feel like he can make some things happen in the slot.

Cross Training any RB so they are better at receiving is a good thing.

We have the worst RB room in the NFL. We have Short, Slow, Old and Average all covered..
Do we ever. Worst RB room I have ever seen top to bottom. Bravo Jerry! You've outdone yourself. And this after three straight 12 win seasons where having no good running game was one of the three main things holding this team back from becoming a contender, the other being no run stopping and bad team culture due to the GM.

His name is Duece Vaughn. And would be such a Cowboy thing to switch him over to WR. The Boys have a bunch of WR who aren't good at WR. Why not use a RB who isn't good at WR.
Actually, it's "Deuce" Vaughn.

It's a bad reflection on this board that so many are so predisposed to specious conclusions, but then again, that's the state of most sports fan boards, not just this one... so many psychologically needy people who thrive on cynicism no matter how shallow their conclusions based on the under-the-hood facts... soooooooo dismissive of anything beyond the shallow, surface, soooooo resistant to look closer to understand what's really going on

(... in this case, that the player literally received one series all of last regular season behind the starting O-line, in a bell-cow RB offense--not a RB-by-committee offense--and thus where he was necessarily rarely going to get any snaps by virtue of TP's presence and that there really was only one other RB who the OC had any confidence could pass protect adequately... and so all those bad numbers on the surface are revealed to be the natural result of minutes played when both teams were trying to run out the clock and go home, with just a very little more interest in getting at the truth... )

and sooooooo easily foreclosed to advocating the most negative possible position.

It's okay, though. The fact that they're seemingly going to take advantage of their best receiving RB's skills from the slot is strong evidence that they're going to move him around and use this weapon effectively. I'm thrilled. Deuce INDEED will be "cut loose"... just in a complete opposite way from how the OP intended that. He's going to be the big play threat here that he was at K-State going against Texas, Oklahoma, TAMU, et al.

You are just arguing every point and forgetting the argument. How does what you are saying make it so that your video showed Vaughn making people miss which is what your claim was.

Nevermind that was all second half preseason tape which you just disregard.

So we still have no regular season examples of Vaughn making people miss. Vaughn has tremendous room too improve as well as the OL.
