Like me or Hate me I haven't been wrong for the majority of predictions I have made here in the CZ.

Dak Rain Prescotto (as sure as the Sun will shine) will follow Zeke's road to nowhere land as a pre-June 1st 2024 CUT!!!

The experiment of "214" since 2016 is a total flop!!!!

didnt san fran score on their first two drives?
no but they scored twice on the first 3 with 2 long drives... I'm no Dak fan right now but you know how this crowd will use every angle to plant this ridiculous lose squarley on one person...the defense gave up 42 points.. and yet that was the QB's fault..ridiculous.

Good post. I just think the organization got fooled by his rookie year when he made very few mistakes and won a lot games. In hindsight, we should have given Romo back his job to lead the 2016 team into the playoffs.
I appreciate it man.

I like Dak as a person and I’ve pulled for him and will if he’s here but I’ve never thought he was the answer.

Don’t hate on anyone that does think he’s capable but his scouting report has been validated. It is what it is.

So what are we going to do? Are we going to keep going with this or get serious about this position? We all know that answer and I think that’s what has me the most frustrated.

I agree about Romo.

You can't blame them for that though. The future did look bright with him back then. To me while the early out in the playoffs was heartbreaking after such a season I saw it as a development. Rookie QB folding in the playoffs (unluckily at that) but delivering such a great reg season? Next year it's gonna be the NFCCG. They kinda reminded me of the 90/91 Cowboys when they bounced back from that horrible 89 season.

But it should have been evident to the FO, that Dak wouldnt be our guy over the next couple of years. Handing him out that huge contract with a friggin NT clause was beyond stupid. And not just in hindsight. The damn injury probably played its part in the timing but still... what a waste of time ever since.

in 2021 I had hope that Dak had finally crossed that line between him and the top 5 QBs in the league. Even the loss in the season opener against Tampa was so encouraging. I put that weird breakdown loss against Denver away as a freak accident. But then the KC game made it obvious, Dak can't deliver against top teams. That game was the back breaker for me and from then on I switched sides from being a supporter to being a critic. And it was the right choice. Unfortunately.
No, you are right. You can’t blame them for sticking with Dak then. It still doesn’t change the fact that it turned out being the wrong choice.

Dak is what his scouting report says he is. And now he can’t run anymore. He is a very limited passer and has always been.

No matter what the past is. It’s time to get serious about this position.

Yup. I didn't blame them at all. It is just so hard to find a starting quality QB in the NFL, and almost impossible to get a top 5 type. And w/ a GM who is terrible at evaluating players, mark it down as "Ain't going to happen."

Honestly...how much do you think the Vikings want for Cousins...I don't know much about his game but I have to imagine he'd make our passing game much better.

The end of Dak Prescott became apparent when they traded for Trey Lance. But that contract will keep Dak in the fold through 2024, unless they can trade him somehow.

I think if Dak does a full 360, it will put him right back where he's at now....correct? Plus, doing a full 360 may make him dizzy and more susceptible to throwing errant ducks. My biggest fear is he strings a few good games together and gets Booger and Chuckles sucked back into thinking extension. If they extend him, I'll come on here to comment about it....but then I'm done....and done with anything Cowboys.
To all of you that liked this....good riddance.

What does Dallas do with the 61M dead cap? No matter how you split it up, it's going to suck.
You deal with and get it over with. That is a far better option that putting the anchor of an extended Dak around this franchise for a few more years. Extending Dak means we lose young guys who are more important to this team when/if we find an actual QB, and it also means guys like Parsons get their career wasted.

Easier said than done. Tou realize there is no such thing as get it over with, right? Did you bother to look at the contract and see what it takes to move on from Dak? There are 3 scenarios, all of which are bad. We're more likely to see Dak get extended.

The current structure of the remaining contract is a huge problem! Restructures have resulted in an extremely difficult situation for the team. Even if Dak was playing well, and Dallas wanted to extend/restructure his deal, Dak has all the leverage.

This is the very worst aspect of the GM's decision making regarding Dak. It is not the signing or paying Dak, but the structure of the deal as it stands now. The GM has handicapped this team for years to come, whether or not Dak is released.

Yeah. They either let Dak play out his last season at a 60M cap hit. Which is ridiculous. They release him and make him a June 1st cut, which is 30M for two years. Or they extend him. Three bad choices.

My hunch is they extend him ( might be a limited time) and we remain”interesting and relative” as a playoff caliber( not SB contender) which pays the bills. Jethro can play damage control , etc. And the band plays on.

Maybe they bring in another OC. Make a few changes like on OL, RB.

But as long as we are a playoff contender not the changes some of these fans are screaming for. Not without a total collapse.
