That was it. It's over. Dak Prescott will be gone in 2024. October 10th, 2023, was the day Dak's career in Dallas died.

Three just horrible performances in a row against the 49ers. Regressing rapidly. He looked 45 years old last night. His eyes were bigger than the 49ers side of the scoreboard. Last night looked like every big game against a legitimately good team for Dak.

Every. Single. One.

Dak's most ardent supporters have abandoned him today locally. Bob Sturm even said that thoughts of extension talks must stop immediately. This has to end. Let him play out the string this year, but unless he does a full 360 in these games, let him go.

CeeDee is done with him. His body language said so. Saw that from Amari in the end, too. Parsons played half-hearted. The whole team saw what we saw. Passes fluttering around like butterflies in the wind. No trips to the red zone. Happy feet. No confidence. Absolutely zero confidence in himself.

The coaches and players have no confidence in him either. McCarthy dumbed it down as far as he could go for Dak. It ain't working. The Farve and Rodgers plays were left back in Wisconsin because those are pipe dreams.

That's it. This team will likely fall into the back end of the playoffs and go out like a candle in a tornado.

The team needs a full makeover, but the first move is to move on from Dak.

Finally. Thankfully.
Jerry will salt the wounds and MM will be gone before Dak, Dak will get a extension before the season ends bookmark it.

Barring some run here, the front office should be planning both cap wise and personnel wise for Dak to not be on this roster next year.

Philly realized Wentz was cooked and bit the cap bullet. We should do the same.

My offseason would be to cut/trade Dak. Fire McCarthy. Hire the brightest, sharpest, young(ish) offense mind you can find that has a reputation of working with QBs. Draft a QB in the first 3 rounds. Let the new guy work with Lance. He starts in 2024 while you also groom the draft pick. Hopefully one of the two work out.

It was over long ago.

It just took awhile for others to catch up.

Some still haven't, but Dak will leave them no choice.
You forgot it’s Jerry and he’s just not going to admit he was wrong Dak gets extended this year and MM may well be the scapegoat if this team fails again. Hate to say it but Jerry just can’t see it with Dak.

People happy we got trashed just so they can keep hitting the bag.
Yea, I guess that’s a big part of what this lashing out is about. But even some of homers seem distraught as well .

I think too many had bought into the hype and this exposed that not only have we not become one of the best teams and legit SB contender but there appears to be even a larger gap between us.

This ^^^..most likely closer to our reality than most want to admit.

And if we maintain a playoff appearance it’s still a product Jethro can sell. Dak represents “ relativity and interest “ which translates to revenue.

I told everyone on here to chill out after the 2-0 start against the NY teams. I took a lot of flack. Folks on here were calling this defense historic and coming up with flashy names. It was sad. I knew those weren’t legit tests and lord knows I recall enough 2-0 starts to last a lifetime. This team has had a soft underbelly since Parcels left. Nothing has changed. It’s still a country club team.

People read WAY into things and as usual, overreact. Which leads to unrealistic expectations. I typically ignore the forum after any loss. There's nothing to discuss among the emotional. Unless I want to hear why it's all on one player over and over. I'm a homer and we got our backside handed to us. Better now than later, in my "glass is half full" POV. All I do know, is that the offensive holes I predicted showed up. And the defense, I once thought was elite was backed into a corner by 3 TDs into the 3rd quarter and they were uninspired. Hard to simply "put on your shoulders."

Pat yourself on the back for being correct on a 50/50 gamble.

I’m not going to actively pull for the team to collapse. But at the same time something needs to happen to make this idiot of an owner realize reality. With that said, we all know what’ll happen

The last eight years has been a major waste of time. Prescott was never the answer and only now are most people realizing it. His limitations passing the ball have been known since the beginning but many saying it were told they didn’t know what they were watching or talking about.

This team is going nowhere until they get serious about the QB position. It’s that simple and it’s been that simple for the last eight years.

We should do whatever is necessary and use whatever resources to try and get Drake Maye in the draft next year. But we all know what’s going to happen.

I think the organization figured this out in training camp, which is why they traded for Trey Lance. Is Trey the answer? History will tell you no, but if the wheels continue to fall off I can see the reigns being turned over to Lance sooner rather than later to see if he has potential.

Good post. I just think the organization got fooled by his rookie year when he made very few mistakes and won a lot games. In hindsight, we should have given Romo back his job to lead the 2016 team into the playoffs.

You can't blame them for that though. The future did look bright with him back then. To me while the early out in the playoffs was heartbreaking after such a season I saw it as a development. Rookie QB folding in the playoffs (unluckily at that) but delivering such a great reg season? Next year it's gonna be the NFCCG. They kinda reminded me of the 90/91 Cowboys when they bounced back from that horrible 89 season.

But it should have been evident to the FO, that Dak wouldnt be our guy over the next couple of years. Handing him out that huge contract with a friggin NT clause was beyond stupid. And not just in hindsight. The damn injury probably played its part in the timing but still... what a waste of time ever since.

in 2021 I had hope that Dak had finally crossed that line between him and the top 5 QBs in the league. Even the loss in the season opener against Tampa was so encouraging. I put that weird breakdown loss against Denver away as a freak accident. But then the KC game made it obvious, Dak can't deliver against top teams. That game was the back breaker for me and from then on I switched sides from being a supporter to being a critic. And it was the right choice. Unfortunately.

We may be witnessing the beginning of the end for Dak. Depending on how he and the Cowboys finish the 2023 season the Joneses could be facing a very tough decision. If the Cowboys don’t extend Dak he’ll count almost $60 million against the cap. If his up and down play continues along with the team and it results in a disappointing season they may move on from him.

For anyone paying attention, it was done years ago.

I think that part of the problem with the fan base is that 90% only watch the Cowboys, so they don't know what a good QB looks like.
Yep i was done with Dak end of 2019 Eagle game where the offense couldnt even score 10 points against a injury depleted team. I think the only good thing was it finally got Garrett let go. Of course all that did was open the door for another weak, retread coach.

Bc that's where we are at now- the time for hoping dak is going to turn it around is done...it's not happening..all that is left now is formulating an exit strategy
Ahh come on, he just needs a few more years. He's almost halfway there.

Knowing JJ he will use that game as leverage to get a lower price. I think Dak will be here next year unless they want to eat a bunch of money. I hope the team will rally around him. If we bounce back and start beating good teams then this game will be forgotten until playoff time. It really the same team we have watched forever.

For years it was Romo. And people said he can’t get the team over the hump. Now it’s Dak. He swooped in and took Romo job and had an unreal rookie season. After the injury he is afraid to take off with the ball. Or the staff don’t want him to run with it. If you all are right and nobody wants him here anymore then the staff will tell him to start tucking and running it when nothing is there. And if he did take off a few times a game you will see a different Dak. Running with it was a major part of his game. It got him in the flow of the game. He was never a running QB. He only ran for 350 yards a season when he was running with it. But it was enough to make opposing defense respect it and hold a player or 2 for an extra second.

We will see soon enough. Nothing we can do but watch the games and support the team. If you put Lance in now it will be tanking the season. But if the losing continues then we may see him towards the end of the season. And I think a lot more losing will have to happen before JJ pulls the plug.

Two of the worst long term signings in Cowboys history.
Jerry gets so enamored and makes deals he shouldn't. I thought he was a businessman. Obviously he makes emotional deals. At least we can thank Steven Jones for talking his dad out of drafting Manziel. Jerry wanted him. He was emotional.

Could Jerry's ego handle hiring a real GM? Jerry can't separate himself from his emotions.
