Have you seriously looked at his drafting record? Belichek is great at stockpiling picks, got to give him that. But he swings and misses just like everyone else. And technically since he has more picks, he misses more too.

So did Jimmy Johnson. So did Gil Brandt. There were an alarming number of draft choices blown. If you do not acknowledge that historical pattern, then you do not understand the mentality involved.

When you have that many picks, the idea tends to be more risk taking.
