Lol at the Mcnasty comment. They are my least favorite when it comes to chicken sandwiches but we have a pretty crappy McDs here where I live. I try to avoid fast food as much as possible but I do eat it on occasion. We have a Chinese restaurant here called Dynasty that people refer to as "Die Nasty".

This is why finding a good Chinese restaurant is so important. I love Chinese food. But I have had some pretty bad Chinese food at some restaurants when out of my home town, without knowing the place first.

Luckily here in town we have a Chinese restaurant that has been ran by the same Chinese couple ever since I was a kid. The wife works the counter and the husband runs the kitchen. Food is excellent.

The 4 or 5 around here have 5 or 6 people that walk around outside with mobile ordering devices and delivering the food to cars to keep the lines moving, and it still wraps around the buildings. That is most of the day. I have noticed that other places too. I guess it was too big of an assumption to think it was everywhere
It may not be everywhere, but it is common to see long lines and the inside booths filled to capacity.

Maybe they don't have drive-thru here, but there empty parking spaces too, so maybe people just don't like it as much here. I've never tried it, so I can't say how good it is. I assume those lines are since the pandemic started?
Every Chick-Fil-A that I have visited was busy and I have been eating there for years. They have always had a large customer base from what I have seen.

It is so hard to find consistency at Chinese restaurants. It seems like every one that I try has the same food, but it seems like every restaurant has different recipes for the same food. None of them are the same.

Funny. Around me there doesn't seem to be much of a difference. I think they all get their stuff from the same supplier in Brooklyn, NY.

I hear ya. I think it’s because so many of them are mom and pop restaurants ya know.

Chinese people cooking different dishes the way they were taught by their parents. Or their own regional variation.

China is a massive country. So I think it makes sense that there’s variation to dishes in different parts of their country. Like here in the U.S. having different styles of the same food between the northeast, south, southwest, etc.

In general asian dishes consist of the same ingredients with slight variations. It is similar to mexican food, or the tex mex type of food i eat. Big menus that consist of meat, beans, cheese, sauce, and some sort of tortilla that is prepared in 20 different ways

Italian food, meat, sauce, cheese, 15 different types of pasta

Every survey that the restaurant industry has conducted has found the satisfaction of Chick-Fil-A customers to be the highest ever recorded. I think they're OK but my wife didn't even consider them fast food, they were in their own category.

I do have an appreciation for how well run they are and they do not have a help wanted ad on the marquis like all of the others and they never seem under staffed and that drive through experience of theirs is impressive. Peak times, someone takes your order, not a voice in the box, another takes you payment if it's cash and yet another hands you your order form the window. That's 3 different people you come in contact with and 3 more than any other drive through I've experienced. And I have never encountered anyone not pleasant and smiling. They're doing something right with their employees.

The chic-fil-a in my town has won awards for being the busiest in the southeast and top 5 of all. I've started doing pick up orders because the drive through line takes to long. It's always backed up 15-25 cars.

The one advantage to being run by a cult is brainwashed employees. Just don't look in the freezers.

I would give Chick-fil-A the nod just based on cleanliness (same with In-and-Out burger too). Most of the Popeye’s I’ve visited seem sketchy to me like a franchise that hasn’t been visited by the owner in months.

The KFC’s in my area got like that, before most were shut down entirely. I saw a stark contrast when I visited one down south years ago. Night and day difference in terms of both traffic and quality.

We used to have one in the mall food court nearby.

Of course, malls are going extinct so that’s out lol

I miss the malls. The ones near me are down but they’ve recently been purchased by firms that specialize in rebuilding them so I hope they’re successful. I think the key is to make it more than just about shopping and a place where you can eat, drink, and be merry as well. Ours went downhill when they closed the bar, theaters, and most restaurants.
