I dont see Romo as being able to function any longer as a reliable starting QB for any meaningful length of time.

I think the odds are 70/30 that he starts again. Mostly because of Jones.

But this is at least 3 more games away. If Dak has a few horrid games, that would definitely change my opinion. And if this kid wins the next 3 games playing great you should at least keep your mind open.
We are still waiting for his first great game so he'd better hurry up. Actually we're still waiting for him to be able to play under center and complete a pass 20 yards downfield, but baby steps.

Also I looked up quarterback controversy on Wikipedia and I was correct, you can't have a QB controversy until the backup has thrown at least 1 TD pass. Sorry guys.

My mind has never been closed. I evaluate players on a game-by-game basis in their first few years in the league.

I have never stated that Prescott isn't the future for the franchise. It is you stating and implying that Romo must step down yesterday now.

70/30. You accept that the odds favor Romo returning as starter despite how much you want Prescott to be named the permanent starter now.

Question.

Knowing this, what is your real problem with erod's OP?

maybe your just are too insecure to hear an opinion you dont agree with.

Ive acknowledged the FO's thought process at least half a doze times in this thread alone. Maybe you should pay attention before you start running your mouth so much.
You're projecting insecurity.

Acknowledge may have been an incorrect term. Accepting may have been better.

Careful CowboyRoy.

Clearly comprehension isnt your strong suit. At this point you are just trolling me.

LOL, I received no less than 27 likes for that response.

That's disappointing to hear.

His game is old.

I do not have a history of that. That's the only thing he does around here. Every thread is the same with him. Adds nothing.

I disagree. I think you're reaction was too harsh, undeserved based on his comments, and out of line.

Brady went his first 78 attempts without a TD, and he was already in his 2nd year.

What really excites me about finding our future QB (knock on wood) is the flexibility it now gives us to rebuild our defense.
We Don't Have To Worry About Taking A QB In The first Round Anymore, So Now We Can Spend A Significant Amount Of Premium Picks On The Defense Over The Next Few Years Instead Of Having To Try To Find Romo's Replacement. And With Jaylon ideally being ready for Next Year, Hopefully This Defense Can Be turned around with lots of young talent sooner rather than later.

Ps Not Sure Why All These Words Are Getting Capitalized

I am lauding our rookie QB. How is that an issue on a Cowboys forum?

Im tired of Romo getting injured and we now have a great young stud where we dont have to worry about that anymore. How is that an issue for you?

I am going out on a limb backing a rookie QB making a declaration that I know will be unpopular yet that screams insecure to you?

Lauding isn't an issue. Posters other than yourself are lauding Prescott yet do not receive the replies that you do. Have you stopped to consider why?

I have no issue with Romo or Prescott as the starter. If I have an "issue", it is with anyone dismissing either player as an asset to the roster.

You're projecting without fail in every reply.

See, this is what I am talking about. I never said Romo wasn't an asset to the roster. Its like you are arguing with some other guy.

I think Romo could help us win a couple more games if he comes back and stays healthy, but probably not enough to make a difference. Plus I don't think he'll stay healthy even when he comes back.

So if Dak continues to play well and we are .500 or better then I'd just prefer we stick with him, although I know we won't.
Romo will be 37 next year and would have missed the majority of the two previous seasons. I'd rather get on with our future now but I know Jerry and Garrett will ride the broken Romo train for as long as they can. Anyone clinging to hope that Romo will come back, whether this year or next, stay healthy and lead us deep into the playoffs is delusional.
