The future is finally in focus

LOL...........you talk as if its rocket science. Dak is the real deal. If you cant see that, then that isnt my problem. People are talking about it all over the NFL. I guess Aikman doesnt know what he is talking about either right?
Nonsense. I never stated Prescott wasn't the real deal. Your problem lies within yourself.

I'll say it again....Romo is a liability to this team for 2 reasons.

A. His health last year and this year. we are so lucky that this year isnt looking like last year cause of Dak.
B. He would hurting the development of Dak by putting all this progress back to the bench.

I realize Romo has had a great career, but that fact remains we havent ever been to a SB or for that matter to an NFC Championship under Romo. He's not Brady, Brees, Eli...you know...older QB's that actually have some skins on the wall.

The wall of realism is that the Cowboys are NOT a SB contender with or without Romo. Once you realize that, it becomes quite clear what is best for this franchise.
No because Romo has at least 5 years left!!!

Even though Dak is ahead of where Romo was at the 4 year mark, and clearly able to guide this team to the post season this year. If the defense improves.

Not exactly true. It's more accurate to say that some people disagree with your unwillingness to accept that Romo is still part of the starting quarterback equation because of your hardcore Prescott is the future now agenda.

Show me posts where posters do not like conversation about how much Prescott is appreciated, that are also devoid of comments stating or implying Romo will not or should not return as the starter.

Its all over the thread buddy. Im not going to do your homework for you if your not paying attention.

Romo can be a part of this team if and when he can play. Until then Dak is the present and the future. And playing quite while I might add.

If Romo never plays another down again and Dak excells into that roll I have no issue. If that bothers some posters, I really dont care.

But isnt is amazing that I knew Romo would get hurt again this year? And I know that he will get hurt again.
You and about umpteen other people across the country and around the world were just as clairvoyant about Romo's odds of re-injury. Yet you hold your "powers of extrasensory perception" in high regard.

I cant tell you if you are making a joke or not.

I'm all in for this being Romo's last ride. Give him his last shot to get a ring and then do what's best for our cap situation. If that means Romo comes back in 2017 and rides it out until another injury, then so be it. If we can keep from cap hell with letting him walk, then do that.

You've misinterpreted other posters' disagreement with you.

I am not your buddy.

Romo is a part of the team. He will stop being a part of the team most likely when he is no longer able to function as a starting quarterback. Prescott is the future until that happens.

What are your odds concerning Romo playing again?

Its just common sense. Nothing more. Nothing to get insecure about.

36 years old + bad back + 3 broken collarbones + slow and brittle + doesnt know how to throw the ball away = INJURY PRONE

and then

Injury Prone old QB + Not a contender + Great young stud QB = THE BEGINNING OF THE END FOR ROMO

The only problem is that the FO doesnt acknowledge the "not a contender" part. And I would suspect that many fans have that same problem.

NO actually you are way out of focus. This needs to be Daks team going forward and never look back. For any guy to sit there two weeks in a row and not be drooling over Dak is totally ridiculous.
I hate to say it, but I agree. If Dak keeps this level of play up and continues to show improvement, it's time to make this his team.

The insecurity lies within yourself.

It's good that you acknowledge the front office's thought-process concerning this topic.

I dont see Romo as being able to function any longer as a reliable starting QB for any meaningful length of time.

I think the odds are 70/30 that he starts again. Mostly because of Jones.

But this is at least 3 more games away. If Dak has a few horrid games, that would definitely change my opinion. And if this kid wins the next 3 games playing great you should at least keep your mind open.

One part of me wants Romo to lead the Cowboys to a playoff run and possibly a SB, but the flip side of me loves what Dak has done so far and wants to keep him in so he can get real game experience and grow as a QB. If the Cowboys are 5-1 when Romo returns I would ask Romo to be the mentor to Dak but to be ready should anything happen. If the offense is in a good rhythm and is winning games for us, there is no reason (other than a compassion for Romo) to sit Dak. I have always been a firm believer in "if it's not broke, don't fix it" and right now, the offense isn't broke. Zeke's issues aside, this offense has been able to move the ball and put up points. They improved in the redzone this past week, and I believe they will only get better.

I have been a big Romo supporter for years, but like all good things, it has to come to an end. Why not let Romo (who loves this franchise) educate the future QB on the nuances of the game and leave the team in great hands when he finally retires? If Romo is truly a team player, and this offense is operating like a well-oiled machine, he would tell Garrett and Jerruh that he would do more harm than good by coming in and changing the way the offense operates

Now, if the Cowboys are 5-1 (or worse) and the offense is struggling because of Dak then yes, absolutely put Romo in and provide this team a little change of pace. As of right now, I would leave Dak as QB1 until he proves me otherwise.

I hate to say it, but I agree. If Dak keeps this level of play up and continues to show improvement, it's time to make this his team.

The interesting thing is, he might be capable of improving at a rate that would justify that. He's got a long ways to go to get to Romo's level, but he's improved so much, so quickly, he might be able to do it in 3-4 more games as things start to really slow down for him. It's kind of crazy how good he is, how quickly.

That said, this is Romo's team no matter what Dak does for this next return from injury. After that, all bets are off, but I can't believe there's any scenario where Tony doesn't at least get his job back this time around.

maybe your just are too insecure to hear an opinion you dont agree with.

Ive acknowledged the FO's thought process at least half a doze times in this thread alone. Maybe you should pay attention before you start running your mouth so much.
