Participation trophies suck as does empty praise that is no more than a lie.
But fans who hate players and coaches from their own team...and do so without real analysis of circumstances and dynamics....suck worse. Such are truly pathetic human beings really...exercising only the reptilian portion of their brain.
There be so much "could half, should half" "we wuz robbed" "look at last year" that I quickly lost interest.
Yes, unbelievably injuries happen. They happen to others too. And in pairs. Others seem to reload. We on the other hand seem to bring in journeymens who don't fill the chamber.
as to Garrett rallying the troops, I half never thought of Garrett as a rallyer, as a motivator, simply as a bus operator who says his underachiefers are passionate, half a strong work ethic and try to do too much. That is not rallying, that is enabling the underachiefers.
Only THREE 8-8 seasons? I was worried it was four or more. This is a team with a few superstars and lots of journeymens. It is scary how we go from Romo, Dez and Witten to the Randles, Churches and Mincys. Gift me 22 solid players any day over 3 superstars and 19 journeymens.
As to the defense, I want to hear more about the impact players but all I likely will here is crickets and I don't means Buddy's band.
It is simple. Several starters and backups have and are missing time, Romo and Dez among them. So the team sits at 2-2. Is there any wonder why?
All the rest is the usual moaning that we hear after every Dallas loss, including last year.
I've learned to let it wash over me like a song I hate playing on a commercial that must be endured before the program comes back on.
Phillips is like Switzer, riding the work of the previous guy and dragging it into the gutter over time.
Garrett is more like Landry or Jimmy (maybe) because he's building the roster through youth.
Landry invented 4-3 defense while JG gets his plays from Tecmo bowl.
Thanks for the good laugh though.
Again, their comeback came against a historically bad defense.
Where are you having trouble?
I am not having any trouble at all. All I am saying is that Garrett is not ABOVE criticism. And right now....he deserves it.
How many teams lose their SUPERSTAR QB and WR?
Tell me. I'll wait. I'll wait.
This Cowboys roster was put together beautifully. You had stars like Romo, Dez, Witten, the three stars on the line, a couple of stars on defense in Lee and the addition of Hardy, guys like Mincey were set to be rotation players, Gregory was the steal of the draft and arguably the most talented defensive player hell maybe most talented player overall and we got him in the second freaking round, we had a developing three tech in Crawford who had a break out year last year, we drafted Byron Jones in the first round who was clearly set to be our future at FS and still is bumping likely Church out of the lineup. They've had just an incredible rash of injuries which screwed everything out. Gregory out, Hardy suspended, Mincey got concussed, as did Lee, McClain suspended, the two superstars on offense, and because of that they have to rely on a backup quarterback and Terrance Williams to be a #2. What the hell do you expect?
There are many instances of a team losing two stars. It happens. Yes, they are dropping like flies on defense too. Injuries happen. If you say they do not, then do not bother to reply.
Mein complaint is not about injures but the lack of foresight to half a descent back QB, RB and/or receivers.
Holla or not.
I don't think fans understand exactly what has happened with the Cowboys. We've lost potentially our best DE (Hardy), our best rookie DE (Gregory), our best linebacker (Ro), our best corner (Scandrick), our franchise QB (Romo), one of the best receivers in the game (Dez) and the league leading rusher (DeMarco Murray).
Let's put this in perspective.
Imagine if the 90s Cowboys lost Haley, Tolbert, Ken Norton, Kevin Smith, Aikman, Irvin and Smith.
Imagine if the 70s Steelers lost Mean Joe Green, Jack Lambert, Mel Blount, Terry Bradshaw, Lynn Swann and Franco Harris.
Imagine if the 90s Bills lost Bruce Smith, Cornelius Bennett, Nate Odoms, Jim Kelly, Andre Reed and Thurman Thomas.
Imagine if the current Packers lost Aaron Rodgers, Jordy Nelson, Eddie Lacy, Clay Matthews and Sam Shield.
Would anyone be focusing on the coaches of those teams if they were doing badly with all those injuries?
I am not having any trouble at all. All I am saying is that Garrett is not ABOVE criticism. And right now....he deserves it.
Yeah, I can recall plenty of people praising Chip and labeling him as an icon in the coaching world after they beat us on Thanksgiving.
Without the injuries to Romo and Dez, on top of the absence of Hardy, McClain and Gregory we would be 4-0.
For not winning without his elite quarterback, receiver, banged up DL and LB corp, and the Ol's best player still clearly not healthy with a neck injury.
K.
No one is acclaiming is is "above criticism"? Who is saying this? Who are you arguing with? Go ahead and make an argument why he "deserves" criticism?
I swear, people always have a fallback when things go wrong: Some go straight for the coach, others come out with their "Jerruh sucks and is a terrible owner!", some go on to blame a WR, some are going back to the running game, and some will STILL go after Romo. It never fails.
I'm not saying any of them are "above criticism", I'm saying criticize those who DESERVE the criticism. I want you to give me an example of a coach who lost their franchise QB and key players on defense and went on to win the majority of their games? The Patriots in 2008 is not an accurate comparison, don't even attempt to bring that up.
