To sum it up, being good at crafting is not the same thing as being good at building a team. The Cowboys have hit on some players but not having a plan those players never really fit into an identity. They are guys Dallas loves to hype as future stars but their careers come and go and none of them reach a SB unless they leave Dallas.I’ve been moaning over this for years. They are never ahead of anything. They let a situation get dire, leave it as a problem for a season, then force themselves to draft that position early because free agency isn’t worth the money according to the kid. Seems to be going ok for a few that actually know the players on other teams.
The RB position is case in point. They knew for years they would be without Elliott and Pollard at one point….yet they ignored it in the draft several years in a row to take some serious flops and were left with next to nothing….and now they will take Jeanty at 12 when they need to take a shot at an impact DT.
It’s tough enough to win in this league when you’re really good at building a team. These two have no chance, yet truly believe they are great at it.
