The genius of Howie Roseman

Greatness is competing for the SB. Not division titles.
anymore a division title and failure in the playoffs is like a participation trophy
those that call this greatness are losers
I said 'go for.' Thus the later comments about the Eagles getting results and the Cowboys lack thereof.

You seem to be holding onto some anger. Want to talk about it?

Stoutland is a legend. He founded Stoutland University. Where have you been?
There were teams interested in him as OC when Chip Kelly was terminated assuming Kelly’s staff would all be looking for work. Lurie agreed to pay as much or more than any team offered him. Now Stoutland is on his third Eagles head coach and will still be there after Sirianni is terminated. In addition, Mrs. Stoutland did not, and does not, want to leave the Delaware Valley.

Cowboys go for consistent greatness. Eagles go for cyclical greatness.

Eagles have had similar downstrokes to the highs you are pointing out. Last year they were quitting on their HC and were brining him back. They have had to rebuild their OL and DL.

Thing is they get results while we get consistent mediocrity. Perhaps because of the lack of talent at GM we are unable to successfully leverage VFA like the Rams and Eagles have.
Good chance that’s correct.

My problem with it is that they don’t seem to recognize that whatever they are trying to do isn’t working, yet seem to think it’s going well, and refuse to even consider change.

kind of moot isn't it? They just pushing the cap hit down the road, correct?
That's just it. They can keep pushing the cap hit down the road for 100 years. It just requires an owner with deep pockets. If the owner doesn't mind spending the extra money anyone can do it. When you see huge contracts it's a sign that the owner is banking profits and not doing everything he can to win. I don't know why Jerry allows this to happen. We are the most profitable franchise in sports history. We can afford Management just like the Eagles and still have more money. Does Jerry want to pay a cowboy star like CD 40 million when he's no longer is on the team? Or does he want to win?

Most valuable does not mean most profitable. If you live in a house that increases in value there is not more money in your pocket until you sell it. Jerry Jones’ net worth, apart from the Cowboys, is significant. He is in fact one of the league’s wealthiest owners. That does not mean he’ll tap into his finances outside ownership of the Cowboys to operate the team. We are not aware of non-Dallas Cowboys liabilities he is concerned with.

Eagles have 2 great WRs, 2 elite OL, the best RB in the league, 3 or 4 great defenders, including the best young DT in football, no real holes on their roster, and no real cap issues the next few years. And Stephen thinks he's doing a good job.....
And they can still pat their QB 51 million per. year.

He's obviously not going above and beyond. I guess he's not as desperate as all the people that come out to support the franchise every week.

Stephen Jones should be sitting with Howie right now with pen and pad (lol)

Brilliant… It’s really not that difficult though… You use bonuses and void years to push everything down the road… Eventually, it’s time for a rebuild and you goes through a couple seasons of cap hell. And for that cap hell, you are rewarded with high high draft picks… Which allows you to rinse and repeat.

I think the Eagles absolutely trade Hurts before his contract is up. I think the Eagles are already planning for a replacement for Hurts. I also think they built a team that can win with another QB. They don't need a franchise MVP type. They won with Nick Foles. To me, their way is obviously the best way. If Dak was playing for the Eagles in 2023, I think there is no way the Eagles sign him to an extension. I certainly do not think they give Dak a no trade clause.
I would not at all be surprised if that happens. Howie Roseman understands you win championships with dominant OL and DL because if you have that you can win without a superstar QB.

Saquon wasn’t really a big factor. Hurts was good but mainly because his OL is so dominant. He didn’t have to make big plays. He could have eaten a sandwich back there when he had to pass. And the eagles DL was so dominant the real superstar QB couldn’t get much going.

I don’t get some of hurts hate. Maybe guy isn’t great at one thing… but he’s a playmaker.

I’d love to have hurts over Dak… a guy that can beat you in multiple ways.

Instead of Dak a guy that can’t run anymore and isn’t a good enough passer to carry a team.
