Huh? You are taking an easy decision to waive a crappy player as part of your evidence Johnson was a great coach. All I am saying is he didn't exactly set the world on fire in Miami and he waived plenty of guys over there so that's definetly NOT the reason he was successful. Part of it was the coach, but the larger reason was unquestionably the talent. The guy didn't win anything without the Cowboys. On the other hand, any team who wins with Barry Switzer as it's coach was a great team.

You TRY to make arguments that support your narrative and you're failing terribly.

No, they did not !!! Yes Dallas got draft picks from Minnesota but the team was built by Jimmy !!! Trades , cuts, ect done by Jimmy !!! You have to know how and who to pick and trade, and Jimmy was the best !!!

The Commanders pulled ahead of us with Kirk Cousins as starting QB, after RG3 was benched after pre-season... And they were down 24-0...

They haven't had Reed for two games prior, there primary WR is Garçon... Their second tier WRs are like ours...

Their play calling is light years better than ours, and that's with Gruden...

This is good example, kirk is a bkup who is playing #1, he isnt great but ok, like cassel.
Wash doesnt have as good a team as dallas yet they are doing better .
Coming back from 0-24 was pretty good.

RGIII wasn't "benched", he and Cousins were battling for the starting spot. Cousins won out.

They have their starter, a guy who has been there since 2012. Not the same. NEXT!

So Cousins is their Romo ?? Is he better than cassel? he has been there longer, but really they are about the same.
They dont have a hardy, or as good a OL.
I dont think anyone would say cousins is a franchise QB, they are making do with him till something better.

Dallas had 233 yards rushing in this last game,5.7 avg 227 yds passing for 8.1 avg, 38 min to 21 min on TOP and still lost the game??

I will say this, the clapping is a habit, he cant stop, but it does look stupid after bad plays.
JG is the type that losing is ok with him, just watch the tape and try to get better.
He needs to change his own philosophy.

He is someone who keeps doing and saying the same things and expecting the results to change.

Cousins didn't go into the season as a backup! He went into the season as the starter, getting starter reps, been with the team for 4 years. He's not the backup! They aren't winning with a freakin' backup! They are winning with their STARTER.

JESUS. This is like saying, "Romo was behind Bledsoe back in 2006. So, we are winning with our backup!".

Ok co cousins is the starter, so is fitzpatrik for jets, hoyer for houston,McKown for cleveland, etc, but these guys are about the same as
a matt cassel.
the cowboys and JG wasted 3 games with weeden, and part of that maybe most of it is on JG.
Cassel even with the picks looked better, and will or should get better.

Bottom line is 2-3 of these last 4 were winnable no matter who we had playing, and we didnt win any of them.

The ST which was real bad in this last game , and has been lackluster is coached by a guy JG loves, rich was his choice, and he thinks
Rich is doing a good job with ST ! They just need to watch some tape and get better ! It is a process.

He did, but not as much, and not as much after bad plays. It is a habit, I see other people on sidelines doing it too.
In a way it says to players you screwed up but that is ok, dont let it get you down.
But they could and should break that habit and fnd another way to convey that same message.

Isn't he in charge of motivating the team? Motivation doesn't come solely from butt slaps and "it's okay, we'll get em next time mentality surely doesn't cause a lite a fire under the player's butts knowing "things just happen". How about a cut or two perhaps to show poor play will not be placated with the "get em next time" opportunities that are given out so freely. Other examples of back up Qbs are there, this team just doesn't have the creativity or flexibility in coaching motivation to let that happen.

He cut the backup running back after fumbling twice is a meaningless last game of the season right before the playoffs. That's accountability, not worthless clapping.

He says if a coach is soft the players are soft. He said players and him could say whatever to each other.
He also says players need to know what a coach is thinking.
