Jason Garrett's problem is that he is incapable of adjusting to what the defense is giving him

I usually don't agree with anything you say but this I do. :D

he is one of the worse when it comes to making adjustments

he comes in with a game plan and once it gets shut down so are we for the duration of the game.

more often then not he cant call plays to take advantage of the what the d is giving him and go away from what is not working.

hell continually run the same non effective plays yet expecting a different result despite the failures

Which is exactly why we arent going anywhere with this coaching staff

Remember how we all used to mock Andy Reid because he was incpaable of winning it all because of his refusal to run the ball consistently? Well guess what, that's us now.

Difference is, Reid has a short passing game, which is effectively running. They also throw the ball out quickly.

While Reid hasn't won the Superbowl, he's taken them to the big dance and put them in a position to win...

This offense with Reid would be ridiculous...

Too many screens? Have you ever watched a Cowboy game the past two years? Too many screens? You can't be serious!:lmao:

THe Cowboys hardly run any screens.

Did you see the one today on 3rd and 22? I went for a yard. BTW you are missing the point screens are good when the blitzes are coming AGINST THE PASS. If you are running the ball, like Im talking about, there will not be so may blitzes and instead of screens you are running more flares to the backs etc.

What makes it even more amazing is Garrett's background offensively.

Learned from Norv and coached with Saban his first yr as a pro coach.

I simply don't understand him.

If that stat is correct, 11 carries from the RBs in a tight ballgame is incomprehensible.

to follow up on the op, anybody notice how slow Romo is when handing off? he's like that to sell the pass. very rarely do you see Romo get the snap and hand it off quickly.

The stat is correct. We had 14 total rushes and 3 were scrambles by Romo when he was running for his life. I just don't understand it. We have 3 superb RBs on the team and none of them are hardly ever allowed to get into the flow of a game. IMO, Choice should be getting a lot more action. He's dependable and is a good combinatin of power and speed. Why in the hell did we draft Felix if we're only going to let him touch the ball 4 or 5 times a game? A first round pick for that????? Barber had 5 carries today and I'm pretty sure most of them came in the first quarter and the early part of the second. We're letting the strongest part of our roster go unused and not using the strength of our big O line. But then again, I'm just a fan that has watched a lot of football for 40 years.

There is no explanation for it.

IMO, Felix needs to sit it out for a few weeks and get healthy for the end of the season. He's obviously a shell of himself right now. Choice would do fine if they would just commit to run it.

And the post is why we will be one and done in the playoffs again this year, if we even make it!

Garrett is too impatient and wants to throw the ball. It has become obvious in the past couple of weeks. It's looking very similar to 2007. It will be our undoing IMO.

Hey, nobody enjoys a 1 yd gain up the gut....but you have to committ to those kind of plays....aka Cincinatti Bengals. He gives up too quickly and that's why we will be home come January. Very sad.

We're 24th in number of attempts per game.

We're 2nd in average per carry.

That says it all.

How many carries and targets did Felix Jones get today?

They have to get him more involved, or they are going to be in trouble in December. They can't just give up when it doesn't work.

Felix needs some space, and he's not getting it.

Roy Williams let them down today. He gave two chances to score away. On his 20 yard reception, I noticed that he didn't have the ball secure. He was holding it loose and only covered it up when he saw the hit coming. He was carrying it loose after he caught that bomb and didn't see Woodson coming, and he got stripped and fumbled. He had that one big drop that cost Dallas another chance to score, too.

Free looked like he played very well. I saw him pancake one guy when it looked like he would sack Romo.

if you look at the reply, Woodson wasn't even trying to strip the ball, he was trying to wrap up, but Roy made a move to break it, but the carelessness of the ball allowed Woodson's grasp to knock the ball out

The next 5 teams that rank below us in yards per rush are all in the top ten in rushing attempts. We're 24th.

14 of the next 17 teams below us run it more than we do.

This is crazy.

I am really curious to see how often we ran shotgun tonight. Seemed like we were in shotgun 70 percent of the time.

Reid or anyone else. Fact is, I think everyone is starting to realize that Garrett is not an offensive coordinator in this league. The fact that he does consistently less with the talent that he has is telling of that. So is his inability to adjust.

I can't disagree with any of the criticism sent Garretts way in this thread.

OP one hundred percent correct, too many draws!! We do not have an offensive line built for that purpose.

Shotgun first snap of the game?? What kind of identity are we trying to establish, the big bad Cowboys come to town with there big tough O-line and we start trying to play like a Mouse Davis offense (little exaggeration but you get the point).

No imagination, no feel from Garrett, just my opinion but i am very very concerned that he will be our next head coach.

And just for old times sake could we run a toss sweep?
