The Jerry Sandusky Trial Thread *Sandusky Guilty - Post #93*

I think it's unfair how the prison system goes out of their way to protect scum like Sandusky. Why should someone who prays on kids be protected? If pedophiles get into the General population and get murdered/beaten up/raped then so be it. I may be the only one who feels this way but if you molest/rape kids you don't deserve protection in prison and should get what's coming to you from other inmates who can't stand child abusers/molesters.

It's more irritating hearing that Sandusky might be protected considering how some at Penn State failed to protect the kids and save them from getting abused by Sandusky, but yet he gets to be protected, why?

They can't put a guy in a situation where he will assuredly be killed.

Sucks but that's the way it goes.

Realistically, how far is that from any one of us beating a man to death or shanking him premeditatedly?

We grant prisoners some free pass to kill a guy while in the hands of the justice system?

Not exactly an admirable way of handling things. If the US says he gets 100 million years, you can't just expedite a death sentence by throwing him in with the guys who have nothing to lose.

The more you think about it, the more you realize him getting killed in prison would be too easy of an out for him.

Let him rot

Just to tack onto this, a child is more likely to be molested by someone they know as opposed to a complete stranger.

Like it matters either way.

It doesn't matter to the child, but we're discussing how to prevent such things from taking place to one's own offspring. A couple people in here have decided that it best to hover over their children 24/7/365, and shelter them away from the cold, cruel world and make sure they get to know personally every single adult that the child is in contact with.

More details coming to light about what Paterno and Penn State officials knew and when. More people belong in jail here, in my opinion.
This is going to sound crazy, and probably quite a bit insensitive, but I think the university is lucky that Paterno died. There's a very real chance he'd be facing indictment sometime in the coming months or years. This way they get to keep deifying the guy. Yes, his record is blemished but it's a helluva lot better to have a blemished record than to actually be a convicted felon.

Joe Paterno's role in covering up Jerry Sandusky's child molestations grows as evidence is leaked

A legend like Joe was will only be remembered for this now....sad but he only has himself to blame

If what appears to have happened is actually what happened, I don't think it's sad at all. It's a horrifying lack of judgement on his part, and it rightfully should swamp his sports-related accomplishments.

I agree wholeheartedly.

Makes that one long thread look really silly now.

Yep. It's too soon to overreact, but, man, if it turns out this was all allowed to happen with the input of multiple adults...if I were one of my kids who was a subsequent victim, I'd be in a murderous rage over how this looks to have gone down.

Exactly.

It couldn't have been stated any better.

Penn State and Joe Pa would have looked a whole lot better if they put an end to what Sandusky was doing and reported him to the police and made sure that he was put behind bars and the children protected.

If it was just Sandusky then Penn State would be more respected for taking a stand and protecting the kids.

Now because they hid it in an attempt to protect the Football programs image, they and Joe Pa have a long termed damaged reputation with the public that will take a very long time for the school to recover from. They did more damage to themselves by hiding it instead of reporting it like they should have.

More importantly than protecting their image and reputation, their actions allowed a pedophile to remain at large to find other victims.
