******, I wanted that extra pick.

Austin better produce...50+ catches at least!

If holds out for some big contract...I'm gonna be pissed!

There is no way he will hold out...

I feel a really productive season coming on for him baring injuries...I say we get him locked up mid way through the season for a bargain like we did with Ratliff

50 catches minimum!!! he's gonna be the #3 passing option until he shows something. I'll be happy with 30 minimum with some of those resulting in big/huge plays.

also he will be playing on his tender so I don't think he can holdout once he signs the tender.

The biggest advantage is we still have speed at WR, because if we lost him, damn this team would be slow. I just hope Garrett doesn't have Roy run long routes all day...

I'm glad the Jets decided to pass, I think Austin is going to be a big part of the offense. When him and felix are on the field together it will put a lot of pressure on the defense. Hopefully, Garrett is creativie enough to come up with some plays or route combinations that will use them the right way this year

Something tells me we're gonna wish we'd gotten the extra pick.... I'm not on the Austin Bandwagon just yet! Hopefully he'll have the breakout year that his "following" is expecting! :crossed:

Martellus Bennett looks good from last year..... But we drafted Anthony Fasano in the second round and traded him away.. There is something wrong with that to me. Just another example of a wasted second round pick with Fasano

Not when you look at what we got in return for the trade: Tarshard Choice. He had more of an impact in half a season than Fasano did the 2-3 years he was here.

They got both Choice and Scandrick with that pick through a combination of trade downs and one trade up.

It could be that that the Jets called the Cowboys and asked them if they were going to match an offer on Miles. Remember Parcells getting ticked at Sean Payton for not calling first to see if the Cowboys would match an offer on Killer???? It is supposed to be a gentlemen's agreement to to call the other team in the NFL.

Excellent. Miles Austin is #2 on my list of players I'm expecting to breakout next year. Felix being #1. I really hope we give him an opportunity to develop as our #2, and we go into the draft looking for a solid 3 to work the slot and keep some pressure on Crayton.

I just think the Jets got Cold feet about giving up a 2nd round pick for Austin and the other rumor was that they would offer us a player for but who on their roster besides Revis, Rhodes or Kris Jenkins would be a good fit here?.

With this news.. 2 things come to mind.

1. Jerry dodges a bullet. Almost lost a cheap project because of his dribble.

2. a song, "back to life, back to reality"... you dont give up a 2nd rounder for an undrafted player that cant stay healthy and hasnt done much when on the field.

I think Hurd can put pressure on Crayton.

Look at how young Kiper, Bob Lee, and Sapp look.

I'm ok with keeping him but I certainly would have been pretty darn happy with the extra 2nd rounder for him.

As for his production I'd say if he gets 30-40 catches this year I'd be pretty pleased with him. Right now I'm not completely sold that he'll get anywhere near 30-40 catches cause he hasn't shown me that #1 he can even stay healthy for most of a season yet and #2 that even when he is healthy that he's able to consistently be a player for this team.

If you go back and look at some of the games last year he did play in, like Arizona, how does the guy only catch 1 ball? Arizona was committing to Witten, Owens, and Crayton most of the time and yet Austin caught only 1 pass all day. That's my biggest fear about him is that even with him being the 3rd or 4th option, at best, he doesn't consistently give Romo a target.

I'm hoping he does this year but to this point I haven't seen enough of him to believe that he will for sure. Especially now with them also no doubt throwing more to Bennett, Jones, Barber, and Choice.
