By all accounts Parcells is still at Valley Ranch every day working and will come out an annonce what he is going to do in ample time for the Cowboys to address what they plan to do this off-season. Only people that seem to have an issue with this is some fans

Is every player at VR every day ?

Do they all know what his intentions are ?

Not every player is at Valley Ranch right now and as for do they know what Bills intention is? I doubt that but then players are going to play regardless if Bill comes back or a new coach is brought in that is what players do. As I said the organization has no issue with this and Parcells is still at Valley Ranch working and will annonce what his plans are fairly soon. Only people who seem to have a bug up their backside over this is some fans and your favorite people the media. :laugh2:

Well Jerry set the deadline for February 1st so it will have to be the 1st option.

Stoops? I live in OU country and can tell you it was MIKE Stoops that was the reason for the early success of that team, not Bob. What has Bob done since Mike left for Arizona? Nothing. Starting with the Big 12 Championship loss to KState and following that up with the loss to LSU. Cite his wins against Texas, if you must, but then look at how that's worked out for him since UT got some better coordinators. Bob has done fairly well beating up on average talent in the Big 12, but that's like Seattle winning the NFC West.

If you want a Stoops, let it me Mike, and let it be as Defensive Coordinator. He knows how to use Roy, already, or so it would seem.

Correct, don't forget the OC Mangino, they were never a powerhouse O but they were pretty consistent.

I'm sure Parcells' indecision last year had everything to do with our annual December collapse - that occurs with or without Parcells.

who knows what goes on in his head. didn't he do the same thing last year?

maybe he is figuring out a "game plan" for the offseason.

which coaches to hire to replace the holes that are in the coaching staff, or will be in the coaching staff. mayeb those announcements will be made during the same press conference.

maybe he is making his game plan for which players to keep, bring in, or get rid of.

maybe he is just keeping the press(and fans) on their toes.

maybe Jerry has him doing this, so the Cowboys will still get air time on TV stations.

or maybe he doesn't want to come back at all and they are working out the buy for the last year of his contract.

At this time no, if we were talking a time frame that took us into March or April I would have a real issue with that. However I would rather Bill take some time off sit back and determine what his future is and once that is done I expect him to either enjoy life or go full steam ahead in preparing this team for the 2007 season which will include FA and the upcoming draft.

My original thread was not a hate Parcells thread, and I was not suggesting that he hurry up and leave, ... so I don't appreciate it that it was merged with a thread suggesting both.

Dude, it's not my job to suggest names as coaches, but you know who'd be great? Early 90s Jimmy. You know who else, 70's era Landry. Who I suggest or don't suggest doesn't amount to a hill of beans...if you told me today that Bob Stoops was taking over the Cowboys, I'd question why we didn't go after someone with NFL experience, but I'd be happy knowing Parcells was gone.

Stoops can coach, I'd just rather have someone who has been working in the NFL.

but that "mindset" doesn't bother you? the stay/go/stay/go can't committ long term? he sounds more like a teen aged guy trying to ditch his girlfriend than a 64 year old coaching veteran who's seen it all.

i do not want ANY COACH of this team to have to ponder their existance and will to go on. if you do it NOW you'll do it all through the year regardless simply because your mindset is now there *to* do that. you don't shift gears, get shut up and go.

again, this is how we set the tone for the coming year. i'd rather do it with a plan of action and improvement than a pondering of "can i go on?"

lmao @ buzzwords like "set the tone" for the upcoming season. How, please tell me, did Parcells' decision time affect the Dallas Cowboys of 2006? Please describe that, and please use facts. Parcells mulled it over for a while until signing the extension - how did that hurt us in the year 2006?
