Honestly, I am torn on this subject. I like BP a lot. I love the way he has built this team back up. I think we are much better than we were when he got here, with bonified talent on this team.

However, I am not sure BP at this time, can be the coach he once was. His best years was when he surrounded himself with very good assistants. He has not done that since he has been here. Maybe because he wants to prove to himself that he didn't need those assistants and can win the big one by himself. However, at his age, I am not sure he has the fire in him to coach every position as good as it needs to be.

If BP would take more of a HC role and bring in good assistants and let them coach, I would love BP to stay. If he would manage the game, make timely decisions, such as to kick the FG or go for it, etc.. and let his assistants handle the play calling.. both on O and D, I think he would have the energy to do this for several more years and be very successful.

I don't think that is in BP plans though.. so it may be time to move forward with a new coach.

BS it is statments like this that really gets me, you know for a fact if BP returns that it will be the same? Give me a break and while your at it give me the lotto numbers. I have seen this crud from other fans about their coaches such as Holrgrem, couple of years ago he was clueless and lost his touch according to the all mighty fan base and fans wanted him gone that was until he turned around and got the Hawks to the SB. I never kid myself to the point of thinking that fans have the ansewers, I can respect opinion but take it as such just an opinion.

and it's statements like "i know parcells can turn it around" that get to me. you know for a fact mr indecision is gonna suddenly be in 1 year what he's not been in 4? at least i have 4 years of proof at my side.

i see what parcells is doing and it IS MY FREAKING OPINION nothing will change. since it's an obvious opinion i'm stating, i didn't see the need to preface it as such for the tenderhearted.

That is a good point. It's got to be tough - on the one hand, he's got to be torn because they finished playing so poorly - but the bright spots are bright, like Ware, Tony's play, etc. - He said many times that he knows what he has in his players - and to me that means he thinks the sky's the limit for them. I'm sure, after building that, you want to finish it off.

So there's two sides. This is likely his last coaching stint. I don't think a month is too much to ask for a decision that's going to affect an entire organization for the upcoming year, and Bill for the rest of his life.

why are they playing so poorly? you ask parcells he tells you he doesn't know.

and that's ok to some.

it sucks to me and it shows our direction and it's not good.

now, we'll see what time bears out.

Your correct that is your opinion and I have not questioned that however you constantly question how anyone could support Parcells. I think Parcells can lead this team to the top I don't know if it will happen but I do think he is a coach who can do the job. I would say the same about guys like Fisher and Cowher who many are hollering for, both are good coaches and guys who have the ability to lead their teams to championships but if you look neither guy has done it often (Fisher never has) and this past season neither made it to post-season. I'm just not a fickle fan who turns on coaches quickly as others do. If I saw no progress at all I may be singing a different tune but for me I have seen progress with this franchise and if Parcells is inclined to return then I support him

So he has to have an answer as to why some players are not playing up to their potential. Is that what you are saying, HE has to know WHY.

That is a lot to ask.

To know why they are not taking their responsibility of first to the flat seriously.

To why a guy like Burnett sits in limbo land and does not cover the TE like he should.

I bet everyone would like to know the answer to that.

You can blame some of that on coaching if you want, but they can only do so much to keep players focused and sometimes no matter what they do, the players are still not focused.

I remember Julius saying how unfocused the guys were on Christmas day and were worried about tickets for families and everything else. I guess that is the coaches fault too.

No, but I remember not liking the fact that he let them go home most of the day on Christmas day.

Not only was it introducing distractions, but it broke routine.

I didn't like when Parcells did that.

Heaven forbid a Dad gets to spend Christmas morning with his kids!

If he cannot get focused for a game 7 hours later, that is the coaches fault!

I would agree that I did not feel giving players extra time off given their play was the right thing to do. In fairness I have not always agreed with any coach this team has had. I did not agree with Landry when he was alternating plays between Roger and Morton but in the end I always believed in Landry as our HC even when others were ready to throw him out of Dallas in the mid 60's.

I'm not (unlike others) suggesting that we throw him out.

All I want to see is evidence that he WANTS to be here next year, not that he can't decide after 10-11 days.

Surely he had some idea what he wanted to do even before we lost to Seattle.

at the end of the game press conferences.

you go look 'em up, sp. you wanna defend him till your dying breathe, go ahead. you think he's still super-duper-parcells, fine.

time will tell and i'm not gonna play the "SHOW ME!!!" game because your mind is as made up as mine and you'd excuse anything i provide away just like i'll show you how it proves my point.

it's pointless. i hate his narry arse and worship it.

let's just both move along now.

He's at the complex every day. Short of a declaration of "I can't wait for next year" to pacify the masses (which seems unnecessary, considering the previous sentence) what more do you require?

For all we know he may have decided what he is going to do. I do know he is at working at Valley Ranch (at least according to recent reports) When an announcement comes we will all know. Thing is I have never felt my knowing was the most important thing.

So, instead of merely pointing me to where he says that he doesn't know what to do (this should be easy - you use it in nearly every one of your posts) you choose to put words in my mouth and end the conversation.

OK. I thought it was a simple request. Whatever.

nothing. you're right. all is well and we're sitting so pretty these days with parcells leading the way to fiberland where we can all be regular again.

Celebrate Christmas the day before or the day after.

Staying focused is what it is all about on gameday.

I coached many all-star baseball teams and took many to the state tournament. One time when we were in another city at the tournament, most of the other teams took their kids go-kart racing, mini-golfing, arcades, etc. and the parents of my kids were upset when we didn't.

From the other teams, one kid broke his thumb at the arcade, one injured his ankle go-kart racing, one had an accident at the pool but played injured.

Meanwhile we were playing healthy, focused and rested. We won the state tournament and went to Florida for the SouthEast regionals.

Oh, and we stayed an extra day to do those things afterall, plus we got a free trip to Florida.

Coaches have to make unpopular decisions sometimes to get his players ready for the most important thing, and that is the contest.

Sure--it was Mike Stoops. LOL:lmao2:
Ask OU fans, they'll tell you. And JPM is also correct. Mangino was key as OC for that team.

Jumping on a bandwagon after looking at win-loss records and letting ESPN tell you that they held Florida State to 2 points (that they purposefully gave them to get better field position from which to punt) doesn't exactly qualify you to know if it was Bob or Mike or Mark Mangino that was responsible for their defense or overall level of play. FSU's receivers in that game? Javon Walker and Anquan Boldin. I'd say they're doing alright for themselves these days.

Feel free to continue with your Bob Stoops campaign, just don't complain when you're disappointed with the results.

And if he already knows, why the big secret ? ... And you guys think Owens seeks the media.

I don't think it's any secret that Bill and Jerry are every bit the attention ****** that Owens is. :)
