Establishing culture is a tricky proposition because that person has to first ask themselves "what do I want the end result to be"? Then, that becomes the filter for everything.
The first step is to change the thinking from "this is mine" to "this is theirs". "Theirs" being the actual team, not the fans. Booger is incapable of doing that as he is possessive and will gladly tell any critic to plop down their own 140M.
He is more interested in being one of the guys and having the players like him so he says nice things about them in the media and gives them all the excuses they need in advance. He is much quicker to hint at criticism of his coaches than accept that about his players.
This is a culture of enabling and excuse making because it is still his and not theirs. The right culture demands they take ownership of the team and accountability and responsibility for it. They are not accountable because it is not theirs.
