Yeah, that's a good one.
Never got the recognition they deserved.
Yeah, that's a good one.
Harry Chapin was a genius. The problem is that so many of his songs ran wayyyyy too long for radio play.Agreed on ELO. It would be like saying the group Boston is underrated.
Not sure Meatloaf counts either.
Good point on Jim Croce. I put Harry Chapin in the same category.
The Fixx they had hits but were overlooked because of The Police,U2. Mainstream pushed bands like Duran Duran. The Fixx had a lot of good music they never made the airwaves..
Also New Order was very good

I consider him the Shakespeare of music, because he was an incredible story teller, and most of his songs end in tragedy.
If you're unfamiliar with Sniper, give it a listen. It's funny, tragic, and insightful, all in one brilliant song.
I think there's some truth to that.Always thought the sound of this song was a complete rip off of Creedence. Good song, but sounded like CCR.
Wiki gets a lot of origins type things wrong, so I'm not surprised.Let me give you a little info i wouldn't share with just anyone. ...No it's not great info, but here it is.
MTV when they first aired a nationwide video, wiki says different, but MTV opened it's first hub to air videos from a town called Palisades Park five minutes from my childhood home. I was still very young but the older kids would hangout outside the place and drink beers etc etc etc.
I like your choice, but fwiw, face tattoos and do-rags are kind of an on purpose "look" too.I was never able to get into their look/set up, i just want good music not that make up and costumes act but they are huge Stones fans so that's a plus in my book.
Yes another music thread. I'll just pick one band for openers.
I'm not sure if there has ever been a more underrated band than
The Cult
ELO isn't under rated, they just didn't provide enough music to leave us with. I can't get it out of my head. I'm not sure if Meatloaf counts, I enjoy his operatic Rock and Roll. Jim Croce didn't live long enough to acquire the credit he deserved. Marc Cohn is more singer/songwriter but it doesn't look like he'll ever get proper recognition. Silver Thunderbird should be a classic along with many others. True Companion kills me. Miles Away is a fun one. Instead he's known as a one hit wonder for Walking In Memphis.
