I’m on the fence with Mike because of the huge improvement the offense showed with him calling plays. The running game debacle is on his shoulders. I could see him staying but I could also see Jerruh canning him, too. I’d be willing to give him one more year and make him hire a new DC.
They feasted offensively on a lot of bad defenses and then were decidedly mediocre to bad against good teams/defenses.

So I wouldn't really put a ton of stock in there being this huge improvement in the offense with him calling plays.

At best, we have the same chance.

There is zero reason to bring McCarthy back. If you think there is a possibly he can win here with a different QB, than you are as naive as Jerry likely is going ot be.

I have no idea what mystical coach can come and work with Jerry. But I do know the one we have failed. So why in the world would you continue to employ a guy who just got run off the field as a #2 seed and has done no better than Garrett, a guy you fired a few years ago?

The reality is you think McCarthy can win here. That's your real point. He can't.
And neither can Dak.

Great.

I am on the side of sending them both packing and starting over. I've said this multiple times for over a month now. People can back me up on this. I said if we get bounced early again in the postseason, I see no reason to bring either Dak or McCarthy back.

Did someone in Green Bay ring him and offer a bonus? I mean, our guys seriously underestimated this team. They were 9-8. But if you looked at the most recent 10 games, they were as good as any other team. Even I saw that coming. Just crazy how aloof and oblivious he looked out there. No command over this team.

Even he would admit, it's time for him to go. Huge fail. Had to be some drama going on in-house. This team just wasn't focused.
Started not playing football, but not to lose.

I'm at a total loss right now
The next week should be Interesting
No doubt. If there's no change after this, it'll certainly be a less-entertaining offseason, and I'll be less enthusiastic about next year's regular season. I was forgiving last year. I could have been forgiving this year. But from everything I observed, the team and fans took Green Bay way too lightly. This team record is not indicative of what they became as the season progressed. Mike didn't have the team focused. For crying out loud, they were bickering and geeking out on the field out there—in a playoff game—like some dysfunctional family. Not what you want to see as a fan. In fact, the last thing any team should want to see. Yet, there they were.

That's what many fans fail to understand. It isn't usually the hot team at the beginning of the year who wins. The teams who are hot towards the end typically win more. The 2nd half of the season, and particularly the last 5 or so games, really matters more than anything. That's why I don't typically get worked up about regular season losses. I understand it's a long-game... Dallas just gets too high and too low, and buys into the hype whether it's negative or positive. They don't know how to tune out the noise, which is exactly what Love said the Packers did... That mindset stuff works, when you don't think you're too good or too bad and take every team as seriously as the next. Cowboys are living in the media.. and should just see it as a distraction, all the way around. Instead, they relish in it.

The media and fan noise surrounding this team does them no favors. Even the coaches get caught up in the fame drama. The coach who can best avoid getting caught up in that; the coach who can innovate and motivate on the fly.. that's the coach I want.

True, but 90% of the NFL has bad defenses. You have to at least win those consistently and he did. Something Garrett-top couldn’t do.

Draft a QB in the 1st round and have him sit a few years first. Then offload Dak.

The best part is Jerry is likely gonna sit on this for like a week before he does (or doesn't) make a move.

If you don't reset the QB, doesn't matter who is HC. I'm not the biggest MM fan but I don't know if piss poor execution by the players is all on the coach.

You know how many teams will interview Big Mike ??

three straight 12-8 seasons .

he will be fine . Not even belichick will get so many calls .
Like I said before, how likely is it MM ends up in New England somehow, in some form or fashion? I realize they already have a coach. But just seems like they'd have a role for him there. Just my hunch.

I honestly sense that some of our coaches knew they were on the way out, and the players got word. The behavior in Dallas this week was just bizarre considering they were heading into the playoffs. They thought GB was a pushover. Why?

We really missed LVE this game. That much I know.
The chosen defense needs a strong defensive lineman, a tough middle linebacker and to keep Parsons on the outside. Next we need to talk offensive line rebuild. At present, over priced, too old and paid too much upon real talent levels. Don't pay Prescott with a large team rebuild being shown and Mike McCarthy projected to accomplish just that. He had everyone on pay and a ton of talent and tried to look pretty and afraid of making his players play tough. He just isn't tough enough to survive that degree of change required in Dallas. Period...
