He kept Garrett for 9.5 years,
With a lot less results.
So I can easily see him keeping Mike.
I can see it because I believe Jerry doesn’t really care about winning. SB, just be relevant, on TV a lot, rake in $, Turkey day game and many other things. Need to let football people make football decisions , why do u think Jimmy left?

This is exactly what I said. We held onto Garrett for waaayyyy to long. We will do the same with McCarthy. But have we lost this bad in the playoffs under Garrett? I know it is only one game but man we looked terrible. We were dominated and looked like we had no business being in the playoffs.

Are you struggling with reading all of what I post? I said I'm not defending MM. I'm just stating that between the two, Dak is the bigger problem. We're much more likely to find a good QB than getting a HC that can get it done that would 1) want to work for Jerry and 2) capable of getting it done under the culture Jerry engenders.

How about I do what you're doing. Since you are all about defending Dak over MM, exactly what coach would be willing to work for Jerry that can also get Dak to make it to a SB? hmm? Who? Who can turn a choke artist into a SB caliber QB that would actually work for Jerry?

You're fooling yourself if you think Dak could win a SB under any HC. Ideally we'd replace both. There is a limited amount of great coaches that would work for Jerry though given Jerry's control issues. With the draft, players get fewer chances of rejecting that.
But you kind of are defending. Because you are open to the possibility that if you give McCarthy another shot with a QB not named Dak, he might win.

He won't. He can't. He's a mediocre HC. You are just repeating the Garrett era if you let him continue but find a way to send Dak packing.

I'm in Australia, and just feel like this is one of those times where tomorrow morning I wake up to the news that Mike McCarthy has been fired, and Dan Quinn with him. In no universe can this be run back. And Jerry knows he's running out of time. The good thing for him is there are a load of options out there, not just the GOAT.

McCarthy has a ring from over a decade ago and then **** the bed with a Hall of Fame QB for years. He then gets replaced by a first time HC who then proceeds to win with Rodgers, something McCarthy couldn't do at the end.

McCarthy is stale. His teams are too mistake prone. He's still bad a clock management.

You are fooling yourself if you think McCarthy can win a SB if we just let him go shopping for another QB.
Terrible at clock management. At some point he was out there running the ball, when there simply was no time to run, if winning is the goal. He was playing to keep the score less embarrassing in trash time. That irks the crap out of me. Total clown show. I want him gone. Not a single doubt in my mind.

Wrong. I'm saying we have a better chance of MM with a different QB than we have of Dak with a different HC. That's not the same as thinking MM can get it done. The history is right there though: Of the two, who has a ring?

Again, who is this mystical HC you want that with work for Jerry under Jerry's requirements and is capable of keeping Dak from choking in big moments? Answer the question.

McCarthy needs to go. The regular season isn’t translating to the playoffs. This was the worst game we played all season and it was at home. It’s unacceptable.

He's not working in Dallas and with a whole lot of talent for over 3 seasons.

I’m on the fence with Mike because of the huge improvement the offense showed with him calling plays. The running game debacle is on his shoulders. I could see him staying but I could also see Jerruh canning him, too. I’d be willing to give him one more year and make him hire a new DC.

Yeah, I mean, I'm on board. You save lots of cap by jettisoning Dak. At this point, you have to. Too many QBs in this year's draft to rely on an overpriced QB, who has talent but lacks confidence, poise and discipline. You need players who are cool under pressure and don't lose their composure like Lamb and Prescott did out there tonight..
Seriously, I like Mike, DQ, Lamb, Prescott, Parsons.. But you need a team, not individuals... Blow it up. Zack Martin, every overpaid player out there... Just blow it up.
I'm at a total loss right now
The next week should be Interesting

At best, we have the same chance.

There is zero reason to bring McCarthy back. If you think there is a possibly he can win here with a different QB, than you are as naive as Jerry likely is going ot be.

I have no idea what mystical coach can come and work with Jerry. But I do know the one we have failed. So why in the world would you continue to employ a guy who just got run off the field as a #2 seed and has done no better than Garrett, a guy you fired a few years ago?

The reality is you think McCarthy can win here. That's your real point. He can't.

Jimmy Johnson, at halftime, at Fox Network was more inspiring than the Cowboy locker room was.
